ST Babu Frik in Episode IX

I think Babu Frik might be the one universally loved aspect of the sequel trilogy. Such a simple character but executed perfectly.

 

The subtitles for Baby Frik say "Droid memory go blank. Blank blank." Although I could swear he's actually saying "Droid remembery go black. Blank black."

 

Meh, if you ask me they're not even the cutest creatures to be introduced in The Last Jed-

 

my only complaint with Babu Frik is him popping up in the end battle just to say his name. Why is he there? it just felt like unearned fan service.

 

I hate his guts.

 

I think it’s also to show that he didn’t get fried in Kijimi, which would’ve probably been fridge horror for some kids. Don’t want to frik them out.

 

Cute, but not as cute as Zorii Bliss.

 

I'm actually annoyed that Poe says "Zori!" when Babu is the one we're all happy that survived! They could have ADR'd it later.

 

Cute as I he is not. Not strong in the Force Babu Frik is.

 

I would never speak poorly of such a delicious creature. BBQ Porg. Porg fajitas. I could go on.

 

Man, Babu did almost die! Spielbeg saved him! (that was totally a last minute insert, which is why Poe confusingly says "Zori!" when he should have obviously said "Babu Frick!!")

Babu Frik didn't have fans before this movie because he's a brand new character so it's impossible that it was fan service.

I love Babu Frik.
I too was unsure whether he was saying "blank" or "black", but it doesn't make a lot of difference. I don't think he's fluent in Galactic Basic.

 

I think I've come to the realization that he's my favorite character of TROS... probably followed by C-3PO (especially during their interactions or C-3PO's line about Babu Frik being one of his oldest friends).

 

A Babu Frik and C-3PO team up adventure video game could be really fun.

 

Porgs did the same thing in TLJ.

IMO Frik chalks up there with one of the most loveable characters in the saga. He's basically the TROS equivalent of what Wicket was in ROTJ.

 

What I need right now is the fan edit that makes Babu Frik the hero of the entire ST.

 

Porgs made more sense to pop up. They infested everything and got everywhere.

I like Babu my only complaint is it feels like they should have worked him better into the seris. Like have him be on Jakku and know rey Wicket was in more scenes and did more.

 

BB8 would have words with you.

 

BB-8 was universally loved after TFA but not everyone was on board with his over the top antics in TLJ.

 

Oh, I liked those.

(See, there are bits of TLJ I like, just not very many.)

 

I didn’t like them but I could live with them. There are definitely people who hate them though.

 

Should’ve been the Babu Frik trilogy.
