I for one always enjoyed seeing what in any given scene Padme would be wearing. I’d have to say my favorite outfit of her’s is black one from her talk with Anakin by the fire: What is your favorites? What outfits did you despise? Doed Padme change her dresses too much?
I don't despise any. And it's normal for a queen to change her dresses. I like them all, more or less. But if I really had to pick a favorite it may possibly be this one: I know it's not as a queen but senator. But it looked kind of fresh after all the extravagant TPM ones, which I did like. Simpler and more practical.
I really like a lot of Padme's dresses throughout the PT. They're aesthetically pleasing to me and iconic. I also appreciate that they vary in range from more classical to more modern looks and from very formalized attire to more casual, simpler stuff that still looks great. Padme's clothes are really a fashion feast for the eyeballs for me and there aren't really any I remember disliking much less detesting, but here are some of my favorites: Her outfit when she is introduced and immediately starts putting the Viceroy in his place is stunning and to me really conveys her authority and that Naboo sense of beautiful elegance. It really communicates something about the culture she leads, and the red is immediately eye-catching, conveying power. Another very beautiful and elegant outfit. I love the softer colors and the headpiece. Another favorite is her battle dress in TPM. The fabric looks so velvety that as a little girl I wanted to touch it, and I love the color combination. There's also something of a "sharper" feel to the cut of the dress which fits well for an outfit meant to be worn in war. There's also the lovely white gown she wears to the victory ceremony at the end of TPM. I really love the white color of it (symbolizing peace perhaps?) and how it fans behind her neck. Plus that piece of jewelry on her forehead is gorgeous. In AOTC, I am a fan of the dress she wears on her meadow picnic with Anakin. Has a countryside and rustic feeling to it with colors that really complement the setting. Also the hairnet is wonderful. Padme has the best hair accessories in the saga in my opinion. I also really like the colors, the hood, and the headpiece of her outfit when she is disguised as a refugee coming to Naboo: The lake dress she wears is another lovely piece with a stunning cut and some nice pastel colors as well: And her wedding dress when she marries Anakin is magnificent. Very elegant and white with eye-catching details: And those are just a few of my favorites from Padme's amazing wardrobe. What impeccable taste she has with a perfect outfit for every occasion. I am in awe. When I was little, I used to joke with my family about how often Padme changed her outfits, but as a grown, professional woman, I can relate. I change my outfit multiple times a day now, so I don't find it excessive especially since Padme is a queen and senator going through a lot of different situations in the movies. Her changing wardrobe also really adds to the sense of setting and worldbuilding and tell us a lot about Naboo cultures and values without saying a word.
Picnic and Lars homestead looks are my favorites. Also the outfit from her parent’s house if we’re talking deleted scenes.
That is one of my favorites as well. @devilinthedetails Those are all fantastic choices. Her Red Queen outfit in TPM is iconic and I realized has Hindu/India elements, particularly the red ruby hanging on her forehead to symbolize the third eye and traditionally devotion to thier god Brahmin. I love all her outfits in AOTC, particularly the picnic one you shared. @clone commander bossk Woah I’ve never seen that purple dress before!
Ever since I watched Downton Abbey I've been fascinated by the idea of changing into something super formal before dinner every day, so I don't blame Padme for the frequent changes.
I wish we could follow Padme’s example and get all dressy for dinner. Alas the new look is pajamas all the time, even in public.
Trisha Biggar needs more appreciation for the amazing wardrobe of everyone in the PT. I will emphasize on the boots: they were obviously made for the actors as I saw in DVD extras and very comfortable. Now on Padme wardrobe: oh, it speaks a lot! As Padme is supposed to be more reserved, her wardrobe shows her feelings and thoughts better than her words. While I like her senator regalia dresses they look also like armor to her. Very exquisite, but still an armor that hides her from the outside world. While with Anakin she is open and vulnerable: even in AOTC, especially the meadow dress and the lake dress show it. I also like her maternal-like outfit of Tattoine which is again spot-on as she is about to soothe Anakin, dressed in it. And the nightgowns in ROTS: they look amazing. Maybe the dress of the ruminations scene is my favorite one, anyway.
Oops, not that one. It's the flowing blue outfit she wears when Anakin says good bye to her before going to find Shmi.
There's just something about it. The material looks like it would feel very nice and the flowing arms and legs make it loose, comfortable. The color is beautiful.
I would love to get my hands on that book about costumes in the Star Wars universe. A great deal of it is about Padme's costumes. Here are three of my favorites: and a more simpler outfit;
