    It is definitely playing out. The arguing is nothing compared to that after TLJ, and most arguments I've seen the last couple days are based on people still being bitter about TLJ and comparing it to Mando rather than people having a problem with Mando. I would say "mandalorian has reuinited the fan base" is a fair statement, but you are never going to stop SW fans arguing completely

    I mean if it were classic Bantam Era Luke he would have got his behind handed to him by all those Darktroopres

    Then inappropriately flirted without a good half of Din's crew

    and Grogu would have died a few weeks later since Luke had a bad habit of having future apprentices dying on him.

    seriously though, I have no clue what you're on about lol. have you read stuff from the bantam era, or just watched lore videos about it? My read of Luke is definitely a bit counter the overall authorial intent (though I think it hangs together pretty well and I'm being genuine in my defense of it) but what you're saying is like... counter-factual. Like I don't even know where those three points are coming from.

    Months of watching a Star Wars bookclub that cover early Bantam Era stories and playfully teasing them for their 90's cheese and shlock.

    It's called tapcaf transmissions. They Have a VERY narrow view on what is good Star Wars. In short they look down on, everything not Zahn or stackpol (or the Denningverse interestingly enough).

    Honestly their takes are some of the worst I have ever heard. They deliberately down play any good things in the books and play up the bad. I find them unfunny and uninformed. In fact I don't they even read the books they 'review' since some of their issues are addressed head on in the books.

    Avoid if you like informed or intelligent discussion.

    If you just want to see people insult Star Wars in exaggerated ways (or praise Zahn's work). Then go for it, otherwise avoid.

    I recognised their words when you said them. If you find them funny so be it. But they aren't serious reviews and should not be treated as such.

    If you want to form a view on the Bantman Luke I would suggest reading either the books themselves or a even a wook article/ guide book, you would get less bias.

    As to
    I think Grogu would do fine in the Jedi Praxium, he could be taught by master Ikrit.

    I think I'll decide who are serious reviewers or not.

    Besides anyone whose willing to make fun of the characters a bit and not take it all so seriously is far more fun to me then taking it all so seriously all the ding dang time.

    (Plus I like seeing a different view of the Denningverse instead of the Echo chamber of disdain I find)

    Well, they're steering you wrong. The three points you brought up are so incorrect they're nonsensical. Like, I'm thrown because they don't even have a basis in the usual brainworms people have about Bantam. The closest is the "Luke being a flirt" thing but even that's bizarrely phrased (inappropriate? Luke Skywalker???)-- the usual joke is "lol Luke's girlfriends all die constantly," which at least has some slight basis in reality.

    Yeah I love making fun of the characters too. The thing is, you gotta be making fun of things that are actually, like, part of the characters, for it to be funny. For example if I were to be like, "hahaha, the Mandalorian is so funny, Din is such a flirt. He's just constantly horning after all the ladies lol. And he's such a butthole to baby yoda all the time lol he just smacks him consantly" you'd be like... what show are you even watching?

    I really enjoy listening to Tapcaf Transmissions, and I have a different take to you guys. Hearing them make fun of all the silly things in the Bantam SW books is fun, but I don't think it's meant to come across as a serious critique of the quality of the material as much as you guys are making out. They're mostly joking around and sometimes that might seem like hammering away at the negatives but I don't think that's their main contention. Both of those guys seem to really enjoy the material even when they exaggerate the funny recurring themes like "Luke's students dying" or "Luke's many girllfriends" etc.

    They actually make fun of Stackpole's writing a lot. In fact that's probably the closest they've got to having a genuine problem with a writer's work, specifically referring to sexist undertones in the early X-Wing books frequently. But they are still great books and they treat them as such.

    see "luke's students dying" and "luke's many girlfriends" are things that I actually get where the joke's coming from. Not really accurate, but I get it, they're old saws. maybe Jids just managed to mangle what he actually heard lol

    but the joke isn't "Luke's many girlfriends" It's "Luke is an incel".

    I think they are really soft on Stackpole, compared to KJA, Dark Empire, Drew. Where they do nothing but insult their work and treat them like trash.

    But yes they are joking. If you find it funny good to hear. I don't find them funny. And yes they aren't a serious look at the material as books. It is just two fans of some Star Wars stuff giving their opinions.

    Oh this reminds me, I meant to transliterate the cantina menu from the first few minutes of this ep! Have some really crappy pictures:
    Top half of the menu lists KAADU RIBS, GORNT, ROAST NUNA, GALLA STEW, and ENDORIAN TIP-YIP on the left and MEILOORUN, ROASTED SIDI, HAROUN BREAD, LAMTA, and AHRISA on the right.
    [IMG]

    Bottom half of the menu lists SHAAK KEBAB, JORGAN AND TOPATO, YOBASHRIMP, and SPACE WAFFLES on the left and CUSHNIP WITH FRAL, POLYSTARCH, and VEG-MEAT on the right.
    [IMG]

    Many of these food items are pulled from other sources (i.e., not just made up for this menu). For example,
    - haroun bread, lamta, and ahrisa appear on Shmi's counter in The Phantom Menace;
    - kaadu (TPM), shaak (AOTC), nuna (TCW), and gornt (Legacy and the TFA Visual Dictionary) are GFFA livestock raised for their meat;
    - Endorian tip-yip is served at Galaxy's Edge and a recipe for it appears in The Official Black Spire Outpost Cookbook;
    - cushnip with fral was served at Maz Kanata's castle in TFA;
    - polystarch is the wondrous 'instant bread' Rey made in TFA;
    - and Aunt Z (Resistance) has a tattoo of a space waffle!
