Well, I was able to build and prime for my Horus Heresy Dark Angels.

I built a legion Champion model into Corswain the question is have for is ashould I chain the sword to one of his arms? There is conflicting sources on this from different pictures Depicting him. Its not covered in any stories if he does,really its a word bearers thing that a few others Like Sigismund of the Imperial Fists adopted and later passed to the Black Templars after the Heresy.

But This is Corswain vs Sevetar at thramas from the cover of one of the Thramas crusade short stories and here Corswain has chained his weapon to his arm.



The other models are a Cataphracti Terminator sergeant from my Dread wing terminators, armed Power sword and Combi Boltet(the precursor to the 40k era stormbolter)

A.Legion Master of Signals which has one of the more interesting helmet variants of the forge world.line with all this extra stuff on it for the vox and and auspex stuff.

And A Mark 3 plastic mini kit bashed with a Double headed Power Axe and plasma pistol from the Mark II weapons kit and the forge world Dark Angels Upgrade helmet. This will be Redloss, Voted It of the Dreadwing.

I finished Luther, First of the Fallen. I will be more careful about spoilers but there are implications for the events of Mortis the next siege book.

It's one of Gav Thor pens better books. The framing device of Luther being in stasis and being woken by different Supreme Grand Masters over the 10,000 years is interesting. Learning more about Luther before the Lion was found and even some of his childhood is also interesting. We even meet his parents and there pretty cool characters. They have retconned the connection between Luther and the Lion just a little bit in that in earlier works they were often referred to as a father/son relationship where as Luther describes it as a brotherly relationship. (Think Anakin and Obi-wan if Obi-wan went Dark side) in this book. We get more details of how the order recruits and its interactions with the nobles of Caliban. It goes into the effects the stasis had on his mental state and one of the best things is his opinions of each Supreme Grand Master he meets. One spoiler is his opinion of Azrael

He likes him and pity's him at the same time, he feels he is the most legion like of the Supreme Grand Masters since the 3rd Supreme Grand master who was the last one who had been a veteran of the Heresy and Crusade era, he refers to Safari as a true son of the Lion

. What's very interesting is Luther is only really awake for 40 days over 10,0000 years so for him the Dark A gels Civil war and the destruction of Caliban was only A month ago.

Add him to Zahariel and Astelan as one of the few Heresy era Dark Angels who shaves as Luther, the Lion, Redloss are all bearded per descriptions(Redloss has a big forked beard) and Holguin has a mustache



Its hard to see but that's Holguin in the background on the Cover art of The Unremembered Empire.

 

I will post my Redloss mini in a few days to give you an idea of how it would look on the tabletop.

 

So should I put a weapon chain on Corswain and his sword? Or is it too World Eaters.

 

Do it if you think it fits. The WE was not the only one who did that after all, Sigismund and his followers did it also if I recall.

 

Just started reading The Hammer and the Eagle - Icons of Warhammer today. This is a hefty book (700+ pages) of short stories set both in the Warhammer 40K era and in the Warhammer Age of Sigmar era. I'm just a few stories in but what I've read is pretty good. Book came out in 2020 in the UK.

The coworker who passed is someone who I have actually known half of my life. They worked with my mom at the local JCPenney when I was a teenager and where coworkers for 16 years. We knew their other job was a limo company but 4 years ago it was a shock when I was ran into them after being hires.

 

Forge world announced the next character for 30k and it's .... Maloghurst.

There selections on who to make confuse me sometimes and this is one of them.

The Khan is the only Primarch who still does nor have a modelq(and I hope they will do what they do with the Lord of the Rings Rohan models and due basically a two pack, so you can play him mounted and on foot). Other armies have multiple characters with rules that would have been great to get models foe. Maloghurst rarely fights in the lore due to his injuries that happened pre-heresy. If they really wanted to do another Sons of Horus character they have Little Horus (who they could make give two head options for one pre Hibou Khan fight and one after).

Or they could finally have given us another Knight Errant other than Garro (who is always out of stock in the US) and Tylos Rubio. It would be cool to have an alternate Loken model for example in Knight errant armor instead of Sons of Horus armor with the Eye all over the place or Half Heard, Bror, Varies,.or Tubal.

Hell, my Dark Angels only have a single Character in the Lion had their black book released less the. a year ago , yet We have rules For 3 other named Characters(Corswain, Marduk Sedras, and Redloss) and featured heavily in the last two major novel releases by Black Library(Luther :first of the fallen and Mortis).

I just wished they would focus on more active characters who play a role on the table top more often.

 

Have painted my two first Sons of Jaghatai, togheter with my cousin who painted two of his own. I would say the result is gaming acceptable but there is so much I feel I have to learn.

Relax, no one expects a Golden Daemon award winning paint job at the first attempt or even any attempt. Everyone starts somewhere.


Per the Manager at my local store all that matter is that you can tell what your looking at is.

My stuff is not great but I have seen a slow improvement with it. It takes time.
