    I mean if anything he's very kind to the new canon, willing to include Rebels elements in SE and even Rogue One on his main timeline. The main difference is he treats Legends as canon, and Canon as Legends, essentially.

    The EU literally only refers to Legends. The "we're getting rid of the EU" press release makes that clear: https://www.starwars.com/news/the-legendary-star-wars-expanded-universe-turns-a-new-page

    Canon is just canon. People call it the Expanded Universe because they're used to calling books and comics and such the EU, but that's inaccurate.

    can someone please explain the New Earth and Cobol part and its relation in the timeline and our own real world timeline, and how it connects to our real world universe. What is the Prime Universe? I was a bit confused. Does this some way connect to how the Whills presenting Star Wars to us?

    I'm not clear on the specifics, but I think it's a way to tie the original Battlestar Galactica and maybe E.T. into the SW Universe. Cobol is Kobol from BSG (TOS)/"Kolob" from Mormonism, and I thought New Earth is the version of our Earth from the E.T. movie and novels (but I could have that wrong).

    There are a number of references to other sci-fi franchises in SE:
    * Sobekk (cyborg reptilian imperialists with Egyptian motifs) = Cylons from BSG
    * E'yautja (arrogant big-game hunters) = Predators
    * Malak (genetic engineers killed off by their own bioweapons) = Space Jockeys from Alien.

    I doubt Joe intends to imply that he legitimately believes these and Star Wars are all canon to each other, just fun shout-outs, like the Xenomorph drawn in the background of that one SW comic.

    I know about it coming from BSG, my question was the exact time frame of new earth and our earth, how and when our timeline and star wars timeline interact. I don’t have time to read the full novela now.thanks

    In that case, it’s best to wait for the upcoming Expanded Edition. It will answer your questions much better than the current version does.

    This is New Earth: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Earth_(planet). Supernatural Encounters implies that it’s the setting of THX-1138.

    The Prime Universe is the universe we live in. Humans were transported from the Prime Universe to New Earth.

    Considering the other planets in the system are translated as "Fire", "Mountain" etc. , I wonder if the word used for "Earth" is actually the same word as the name for our planet.
    Though I understand "Dirt" or "Soil" wouldn't be ideal names either.

    One fan translation I'm following suggests that the words being translated here as "Heaven" and "Earth" are actually proper names that are probably not intended to be translated literally. As a rough analogy, the name Richard derives from Proto-Germanic words meaning "strong in rule," but that doesn't mean my friend Richard's name is actually "Strong in Rule." Not sure if I'm articulating that as well as I could but along those lines.

    With SW and the MCU sharing more and more similarities... I was wondering, what from MCU mythology and ancient times and groups may be translated into the GFFA and work there if not already existing, and likewise what from SW may fit the MCU as a concept?

    Seeing recent art for THE ENTERNALS from Marvel I was reminded a lot of Mortis iconography and even the E logo looks (if not an Euro sign) like a Lucrehulc or Starbird sideways and starwarsy.

    Given Joe references an entire multiverse I thought I put this in this topic but it may becoem its own easily.
