Central ToR thoughts up for challenge. 1. Darth Howl was replaced just before ToR, but we don’t know who by. I’m inclined to say Ravage, because he’s just so damn whiny it’s almost as if he’s desperate to validate his existence. That and the Sphere of Expansion and Diplomacy seems a prominent one during a Cold War and Howl is definitely taking the lead. 2. Darth Gorgos was replaced during the Cold War by their apprentice, who completed the Spires monument. This may have spurred Vowrawn’s apprentice to build a statue to him, so I would imagine a rival of Vowrawn did so. 3. Darth Ekkage’s seat was empty until after the end of the Great War, ditto Darth Sajar’s. 4. While Acina took Mekhis/Hadra/Kharrid’s seat, and Arkous took Vengean/Baras/Arho/Malgus’s seat, and Nox took Arctis/Thanaton’s seat... Darth Soverus took the Sphere of Military Strategy, from Decimus. His death saw Marr take on the three military seats. 5. Mortis, Ravage and Vowrawn were coordinating in the shadows when they left Acina to rule. When she died at Iokath, Mortis and Ravage were already involved in the Order of Zildrog, and Vowrawn, for he was known to have survived the Eternal Empire attacks anyway (and as the longest serving surviving Council member) took the throne. He waited until Mortis and Ravage were dead to announce his new Dark Council. 6. Darth’s Aruk and Rictus died to the Eternal Empire invasion. With Nox and Marr missing, the Dark Council collapsed. 7. Darth Zhorrid was quietly removed and her role replaced by Lana Beniko by Darth Marr, which also inadvertently gave Arkous a great deal of access to Sith Intelligence. 8. Darth’s Anathel, Savik and Shaar die during the Meridian campaign. With the defeats at Corellia, Onderon, and Mek-Sha, as well as the losses of the Anoat, Bormea and Atrivis sectors, the Sith Empire is at a severe disadvantage, especially as Malgus, the new Wrath, has also vanished. 9. The Bormea, Kiffu, Bothan, Savareen (Rodia), Riaballo (Dantooine), Corosi (Vesla) and Balmorra sectors were ceded to the Empire by the Treaty of Coruscant. Corosi sector was taken by Mekhis. 10. Marr, Vowrawn, Mekhis, Vengean, Decimus, Jadus and Mortis survived the Great War. 11. Jadus isn’t dead. He’s waiting; watching, and now Tenebrae is definitely dead.........
I don't think Ravage is that smart. He is pretty dumb when you interact with him. Mortis has more brains, but he seems outside the Empire. Also changed it to if, since well you have good reasons to side with the Empire, since she did help you while the Republic did nothing. on 11. yes. I could see him and Vowrawn working in the shadows.
Name one Republic that wasn't useless If you want a successful practical Republic, vote Blotus the Hutt!
It wasn't that useful on Ziost either. While I do like the reversal and I think there is a good in lore explanation (the Republic has now not won a war in living memory and suffered badly in all of them), I don't like how little it is explored. How does the Republic feel about this? How do the people outside them both?
It's actually useful for explaining how the Empire has became so long-lived in-spite of it being a conquerer for most of these systems; the Republic is just a mess. I'm fairly surprised that the Rift Alliance hasn't seceded, or Ord Mantell had a separatist resurgence. But the Empire lost the Killik alliance, so shrug - and seemingly the Mandalorians entirely - but retained the Chiss tie. I suspect the military basically controls the Republic now so how people feel is relatively moot.
https://swtorista.com/articles/old-republic-lore-entries/ YAY SWtorista got the entire website as downloadeable pdf with over 1400 pages of TOR Lore! Minus one page that is easily saved and added oneself as she notes and links to it right there too.
Hahaha, "a prologue for the epilogue" that's a new one. I am excited about where the story goes next, but i'm currently unable to play due to computer issues, my current dying PC won't update the game nor will it install it again, i couldn't even play through the last Flashpoint yet, which is a shame. I hope i get a proper PC soon, i don't want to miss out on SWTOR now given i like where the game is going (thank god it recovered after the terrible "Traitor Arc"). And the people on my guild must be missing me, i used ot be "executive recruiter" in there, i grew the guild from 4 people to 55, i hope they're doing well.
I think the traitor arc was a set up from the Knight of.... they had before then. Seriously those were so boring. All combat, at least now we get new planets to explore.
They were too linear and padded, it has some interesting bosses and the story carries it, but it's a very different experience from the rest of the game, one that isn't that interactive in the gameplay, i have to be in a different mood to play each of the types of stories (KOTFE vs regular SWTOR). But the Traitor Arc you had some of the worst Flashpoints design-wise (Copero...ugh) combined with the worst story they could have thought of. I don't think it was a set up for another "KOTsomething" story, but a rushed wrap-up of that era to return to Imperials vs Republic as fast as possible, they could have done without it if they just had the Eternal Fleet destroyed in the end of KOTET.
I felt Vinn Atrius was an interesting antagonist and it was clever to have the player character face all the negative consequences of their actions, that was something, but still it felt VERY rushed and underdeveloped, for the most part it felt like "all right guys we need to get back to Republic vs Imps by the next three updates so let's wrap this up and destroy every trace of the Fallen Empire story ASAP". The Theron thing was also very predictable too.
This has been floating around for a while now. Still no actual info, so at best it hasn't been officially green light.
Eh, I'm not overly fond of Schreier for a number of reasons, so I am taking what he says with a huge grain of salt. But If this "remake/remaster" at least stays true to the original KotOR (Something a lot of the fan remakes couldn't do), and doesn't affect anything that the BioWare Austin team is doing with SWTOR, I'll be happy.
I think the it stay true to the original kotor while moving stuff that might affect the canon, I think this gam e was supposed to be the 2 original Kotor game as one kotor game. Also Jordan Maison also leaked this and he hwas been right on his every leaks.
Might they replace the Rakata with the Zeffo for canon? I hope not but who knows. Rakata have been mentioned by canon already though. I'd not be happy if they just canonswap some species and places. Like Exegol instead of other Sith Worlds.
I think places like Exegol and Mortis might be in play in this kotor game, these are places perfect for knights of the old republic. I can see Rakata and Zeffo being allies. The mortis gods could be in play in this.
Look, at this point I'm just hoping that the game keeps the original combat or a similar system and doesn't opt for real-time combat.
I am looking forward to explore the next update 6.3 with the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine. I am also from Sweden and live in Carlshamn and I have played SWTOR since December 2011. What are they trying to accomplish to do a remake for the 2 original Kotor? What happened with Kotor 3? Why not do a new game as Kotor 3? Is it possible for Bioware to do a new SWTOR or as an remake? It is soon 10 years old and what will happen next? There will be an future update as 7.0 and years of progress as 8.0.
