Alright, I watched it again. I actually still like the episode. It is different, but I felt entertained and eerily intrigued by those kids. I don't know, maybe it is because I'm from Germany and in my youth we wanted to do all the stuff we 'knew' the people our age did in the USA. So yeah, we had bikes like kids in the US, Vespas and all this stuff (well, two years later, but nevermind). That's like I see the gang. They are out in the backwater (some city in Germany) and want to be like the cool kids on the Core worlds (USA).

And that Boba offers them a job fits into his new self. And it is logical. In Mos Espa and on Tatooine live mostly regular people, slaves, homeless. The only only ones who act up are merchants. So when he wants to get to RULE Tatooine, he has to get the normal people behind him. That he just took in the gang (who has done stuff many people there will be looking up to) it will spread. He will become known as a fair leader and one of his own among the regular people.

It's a rebellion. You can't win the fight without the normal people. Even if the Alliance would have all the ships to defeat the empire, they would not have succeeded without the regular folks who stood behind them and did the stuff on their planets. He has a plan, but I doubt he ever told Fennec. She could become trouble.

 

So I guess Wookies just instinctively hold back on humans? He could have killed Fett and been on his way out of the palace before the gang got there.

If Qi'ra is in this series it would be interesting to see how she handles things. Personally I think she could totally wreck Fett's plans. She has more experience, and has been trained by some the best in the criminal underworld. She may not be as cut throat as Dryden, or Maul, but with what we have seen of Fett so far she really wouldn't have to be.

 

It's not just you. The first time I watched it, they seemed to be going about 12mph. After the 5th time, the speeder chase is now clocking in at approximately 5 mph.

Enough with this same old nonsense about Fett in the OT. He didn't just stand around and say a few words. He was the only bounty hunter out of an elite group of bounty hunters (personally chosen by Darth Vader) to anticipate Han Solo's genius move, and then track him down. And he was so confident in his skill and influence that he casually talks back to Darth Vader. He looked cool, was smart, and wasn't afraid of Darth Vader. That's why fans understandably thought he was a cool character.

And then he was the victim of a freak accident in ROTJ, which says...absolutely nothing about either his intelligence or his fighting skills. It was an accident of fate, and those spare no one. And contrarians have glommed onto this event so they can make the same comment over and over again for decades about how underrated he is. It's inaccurate and tiresome. Almost as tiresome as PT bashing, at this point.

 

The speed thing honestly didn't even register with me until people mentioned it. They're in narrow city streets, the guy being chased presumably isn't exactly trained as some getaway driver, and he's being pursued by greenhorn snotnosed punk petty thieves.

Does it need to be Han Solo on Corellia, Indy & Short Round in China? In context it's pretty much highschoolers on dirtbikes chasing down a middle-aged accountant in his Ford Taurus through a strip mall parking lot.

Right. In which case, why exactly are we watching it? It's the lowest-intensity, lowest-stakes chase in the history of Star Wars.

But that's also why I think it will become a cult favorite. The Mos Espa Slow Speeder Chase. Hip nerds will be wearing shirts celebrating it for decades.

Yeah that scene was not put together well at all. Everybody looked like an idiot. Where were Fennec, the cyber punks, and the guards? In the basement smoking weed and giggling like the characters from That 70's Show? Cyberpunks, you had one job! ONE JOB! None of their cybernetic upgrades detected the seven foot tall walking carpet traipsing around the palace?

That scene felt like the writers really wanted to include a Wookiee fight scene but didn't want to put in the work to make it a little more logical so they just brute forced the scene into existence. I demand my Wookiee assassination scenes to be logical dammit!!!

Also why does Boba need to sleep in the Bacta tank every freakin night? Dude was doing just fine sleeping in a tent with the Tusken's after they stopped beating the crap out of him!

And why (after being attacked by a Sasquatch) did he come out in his bath robe instead of armored up??

That's what I thought at first too but then I remembered that he was chillin the desert with the Tuskens just fine. He single handedly beat up a biker gang without a single night in the bacta tank.

 

Boba wanted to scare the threat away by Krrsantan getting an unwanted glimpse of Boba's [INNUENDO!].

I also love that Boba didn't hire the Wookiee that got past his security team but also didn't fire his cyberpunk security team who were too busy cleaning their Vespa mirrors to notice Krrsantan.

 

It’s a big palace and he’s got like ten employees, probably wasn’t super difficult to sneak into. Fett should really be sleeping on his ship or something.

As for how he got in there, psh, Krrsantan can teleport Nightcrawler style. Deep lore dive, mentioned in some comic one time. Maybe.

 

You'd think that the one room they'd be guarding would be the one with the incapacitated dude in a bacta tank.
