Personally, I don't think there's much interest to that story. We already know he tracked the armor to Vanth and we already saw what he had to do to get it back. There are more compelling things to do in the time that's left.

Structurally it's well written IMO. The dialogue isn't the greatest, but it's not terrible.

At some point somebody will make a fan edit where all the scenes are done in chronological order, and I think the deficient writing would be even more obvious.

I didn't mind that but also it was totally unnecessary, much like the sarlacc pit scene. We already basically knew the story of how Fennec was saved by Boba. We got that from context in The Mandalorian. Hey remember how we learned that Boba stumbled across Fennec dying in the desert and how he saved her by getting her all cyborged up? Well how about if we showed that exact thing to you?

While I had fun with this episode, (I give it a 7 out of 10), it spent a lot its runtime either showing us things we didn't need to see and/or showing things we already knew the outcome to.

How was Fennec saved? We knew that already.
Does Boba get his ship back? Yes, we knew that already.
Does Boba get his armor back? Not from the sarlaac but yes we knew he got his armor back already.
Does Boba kill Bib? Yes, we saw that already.

What did we really get from this episode? Boba wants to be the boss because he's tired working for a boss. He asks the crime families to stay neutral while he goes after the Pykes. He hires Krrsantan and he killed some bikers. Cool. It was fun but I wish there was less filler. It felt like the writers were running out the clock before the big finale.

I do say it, because it is, in my opinion. Lets compare it to three of worst written movies in the history of cinema....the prequels.

    Actually, no. Wrong thread.

I think it'll be skimmed over but the armour's importance to Boba is such an important factor in his return it doesn't seem like something that will be ignored.

Totally agree but if we hadn't seen a flashback to Boba in his armor killing Bib I'd say we would get a flashback of Boba finding out that Cobb had his armor. Star Wars is all about showing us stuff we really don't need to see.

ETA: I almost have to admire how hilariously committed LFL is to not showing blood in Star Wars. I'm referring to the scene when Fennec is having her guts replaced with robot parts and not a single smudge of blood is to be seen. All we see is the blood getting pumped into her for a quick second.

This episode was exactly what I wanted from this series. Nothing mind blowing or making me think wow this is incredible, but just a good enjoyable episode.

I’ve loved the way they’ve done the flashbacks and how the timing of them has varied between each episode. It would seem that they’re now over and we’re moving onto the present day story.

I’ve been wondering how Boba got Fennec fixed up like that since S2 of The Mandalorian so I appreciated the mod parlour introduction

A Boba, Fennec and Mando reunion will be great!! Especially if we get Cobb Vanth in the mix too

It worked in Mando Season 2 because they had Din confront and defeat the Big Bad of the episode, pull together the crew to save the day, and the villain had his own "Diablo Ex Machina" for Luke to take down, before the ending made it clear it was still Din and Grogu's story.

Boba doing the same thing as Din in confronting the biggest threat overall, coordinating the team that takes down his enemies, and deploying Din to mop up duty would do both a crowd-pleasing moment and keep Boba himself as the star.

Yeah, the swipe pans really stood out to me here. They're probably there in the other eps too, but they really popped in this one.

I am sorry, are people complaining about the possibility of Din Djarin showing up to help Boba Fett and Fennec Shand? And actually argue that this would be out of the blue, or "fan servicey" or whatever?

Why would Boba Fett and Fennec Shand NOT request the help of Din Djarin? They helped him take down Moff Gideon and save Grogu, it's only natural that they would reach out to him. Also, Boba Fett and Din Djarin had an awesome scene together in "The Tragedy", where Boba Fett explains to him the history about his heritage and how everything is connected with The Mandalorians. I believe that the least they would have between them is mutual respect at this point.

Honestly, if they did NOT ask Din Djarin for help I would consider it a bad narrative choice at this point.

Yes, 100%. The plot and story in the prequels is fascinating and the superior story in Star Wars.

If the Pykes really want to remove Boba Fett from the equation, all they need to do is find a very poor, helpless, but respectful orphan whose dream is to be Daimyo of Mos Espa. Have the kid tell Boba he wants Jabba's throne, wants it more than anything else in the Galaxy, and Boba will happily give it to them just to put a smile on their face. Fennec will be like, "This is a bad idea," and Boba will be like, "If being good feels bad, maybe we need to find a new line of work." Fennec smirks and nods in resignation, they fly off into the sunset.
