I mean ESB got a re-release in 2020 for its 40th anniversary. It was even the number one movie at the box office for a while.
A New Hope will probably be the only one that gets released ala Gone with the Wind and Casablanca and few others .Thats the film that changed history and became a cultural icon 1977 Star Wars.
Hopefully when we get rereleases of 7, 8, and 9 they come complete with new scripts, stories, and production design that are consistent with George Lucas's vision.
Considering they are still planning to do new movies i don't think we will in the near future. In the far future, however, they will definetly do it, for an anniversary or something, who knows maybe Force Ghost George Lucas releases the new Special Edition for the 100th anniversary in 2077!
That reminds me, I never saw RotS on a big screen. I was in Iraq when it came out and it was gone from theaters by the time I made it back, so it's the only SW movie I haven't seen in a cinema. I'm not a PT fan and I doubt I would come around to liking it on a big screen, but who knows, maybe I'd dislike it less.
Funny I saw it at Osan AB on TDY from Kunsan. I actually watched a new Star Wars at the Armed Forces Theater on base.
