Mini Series Official "Obi-Wan Kenobi" Series Discussion Thread (Spoilers Allowed)

I could see a three way fight. Reva vs Vader vs Obi-wan. Reva stabs/injures Vader. Vader takes her out. Obi tries to convince him there's still a chance to go back. There's a stalemate. Vader's injuries get the best of him, or he allows Obi-wan to flee as long as he never shows up again.

 

How great is that actress they got to play little Leia? She is super adorable and she nails Leia's personality down PERFECTLY. I think she stole the show in the first two episodes!

 

So in the leaks for episode 2 they mentioned

that Reva put a tracker into Lola.

Maybe I missed it but did this actually happen?

 

Are we allowed to post leaks w/o spoiler tags? I'm cool with spoilers on eps that have aired. But leaks seem different. Anyway.

 

This. She was great, especially the scene where she verbally demolishes her ****** cousin. That totally smacked of Han and Leia.

 

Btw, you all think we'll see Jar Jar in this show? I know it sounds like I'm joking but I'm being serious. The reason? I remember hearing years ago when they wrote the first set of scripts for this show, there was going to be an episode where we see an old Jar Jar in a scene. Those scripts, however, were thrown out because the writers didn't think they were as good as they could be so they rewrote all of the episodes (which is why it has taken so long for the show to be made). So I wonder if the Jar Jar scene made it to the re-written scripts? I won't lie...I hope it did because it'd be good to see him again one last time just to see what he's up to these days lol.

I don’t see Reva fighting Vader, especially because:



I think a great scene would be if Vader becomes Anakin briefly after a moment, “Go! Leave! Before I kill you! Never let me see you again or I shall strike you down with all your hate.” Which happens in ANH.

 

Well, he’s not wrong. It’s coarse and rough and irritating. And it gets everywhere.

No back and forth, I'm Anakin now, wait, too late, back to Vader.

Nope.

That's almost worst than Kylo whining about the light side.

 

Ahem it happens in Rebels.

It’s happened in the comics where there is a recreation of the fight on Mustafar, but it’s between Anakin and Vader and Vader wins

Also at one point an enemy (I forget his name) shuts down Vader’s suit and he imagines Padme calling out to him to let go and join her, but instead he gets angry and starts choking her and is able to overcome his crippled suit.

When Ahsoka is engaging in a space battle with him, she senses Anakin for a second.

In ROTJ, Vader almost becomes melancholy around Luke recalling that Obi-Wan once thought as Luke did. But later when they are fighting, he strikes at his defenseless son.

And then when Palpatine zaps Luke, Vader is conflicted.

Yeah, that was the whole point of Sidious deliberately trying to get Obi-wan killed and Ahsoka leaving the Order, as well as Padme dying. He knew that Anakin’s attachment to certain people would insulate him from Sidious’ manipulations.

 

It's still a lame idea to turn the dark side into ... Hulk Mode.

 

Exactly, those Anakin is still attached to can draw Ani out of Vader. Luke realizes this, that he can not only make Anakin resurface, but save him.

 

Its not Hulk mode, Its what Anakin has chosen, but he has yet to drive his old self out fully. Hayden even said at 2022 Celebration he really enjoyed the duality of Anakin and Vader, and exploring it. That’s Vader himself on the matter.

 

It didn’t happen in Rebels. The show deliberately makes you wonder for a brief second whether Ahsoka has reached him but Darth Vader immediately says he’s going to kill her. Anakin is gone. There are no traces of him until his son appears on the scene. And that’s how it should be. Luke is the only one who can reach him.

 

I felt it was genuine split second when he said “Ahsoka” but then he goes back to Vader a second later.

 

Yea I wouldn’t say it happened in rebels

 

Agreed. Vader has buried Anakin very, very deeply. He surfaces momentarily in Rebels upon seeing Ahsoka and then Vader immediately buries him again

 

According to Filoni it did happen in Rebels, in the space encounter if nothing else. She can’t sense Anakin, she believes he’s dead and that Vader killed him. Then for a moment she senses him and begins to believe Vader might be Anakin. Something is happening internally in Vader that allows Anakin to bleed through and she senses the good.

He says Ahsoka to stop her from leaving… because he plans to either capture her and torture her for information or kill her.

 

Well I’ll just pretend it didn’t

 

Actually if you watch his eye is grey when he first looks at her, then it turns Sith orange after she says she won’t leave him this time:



I think she mentioning “she won’t leave this time,” triggered his rejection feelings, that she did leave him at the end of Wrong Jedi, stoking his anger.
