Reva has been one of the highlights of the show for me. I think she's a really intriguing character (played by a great actress), and I'm just happy that we're getting a female main villain in live action Star Wars.

The Grand Inquisitor gets a lot of focus in Rebels. The other two are more throw-away characters, but we still see them interacting with Vader.
And then there's Trilla, the Second Sister, who's the main villain in Fallen Order.

As someone who did not enjoy Reva in the first two episodes I want to point out again how much more I enjoyed her here. she doesn't actually say all that much but I think her facial acting is really great in this episode especially when she sees Rebel symbol in the mine.

I'll just come by I think the direct in this episode is lot better but yes the set dressing for the planet is just not very good, especially when Obi Wan and leia are just walking in the desert and you see random three or four Stormtroopers here and there guarding nothing really. we need Something in the background, a village a couple of buildings something.

yeah I kinda wish this had been condensed into a 2.5 hour movie, with a higher budget.

If Obi and DV have another duel I would love to see Qui Gon make an appearance to both of them during the battle. Not sure what he'd say but he is basically indirectly responsible for both of their current stations in life. Would be a mind blowing reunion IMO.

But was she referred to by that name by other Inquisitors or Imperials?

I have no problem if her name was revealed in a flashback...but to be used like it was by other Inquisitors just doesn't sound right.

Actually, I think they use her given name instead of her title as a way to demean her. It's obvious that they don't think highly of her.

I don't think that means Jedi don't experience fear. That is not what Lucas was saying, IMO. I believe that, yes, Jedi are taught that fear leads to anger, etc. But that doesn't mean Jedi don't get scared. It means they understand how that emotion can affect their actions and then react accordingly. It would be the person who feels fear and doesn't understand it, or can't handle the feelings despite knowing.

I really like that Qui-Gon is a forthcoming payoff rather than us hearing or seeing him right out of the gate. You gotta earn it.

I think it’s a good move to draw out the Kenobi and Qui-Gon communication, assuming they do eventually communicate

it fits with Kenobi’s down spirited mood, and Kenobi finally breaking through and finding a way to communicate with his former master will almost surely correlate with his mood uplifting by the end of the series

Another good episode. Vader's arrival at the village was suitably dread-inducing, and I liked the way he stalked Obi-Wan how he would later stalk Luke. Thought the actual duel could've been a bit better, and was expecting Obi-Wan to say more to Vader. Also thought they took one too many chances with Leia's safety, first Obi-Wan left her then she was left to get to the ship completely on her own. But they did a good job of creating tension earlier in the episode when they were on the truck, considering everyone knew they would both be fine.

I think it's pretty clear that Obi-Wan will meet Vader again later on, and this time he'll be more like his old self.

Just watched the episode. It certainly had a handful of things going for it; though others still had me left scratching my head.

I'm among those few that are indifferent to any recent Vader sightings in these LA films and series. I know as a SW fan I'm supposed to be excited, but frankly I'm more interested in the current story.

Outside of that big billing of this episode, I had a few other things of note.

    - As others have been saying, you wonder how much longer it'll take for Kenobi to reach out to Qui-Gon. I thought at the end of ROTS, Yoda had trained Kenobi to reach out to Qui-Gon; so this is suggesting he hasn't yet spoken to him from beyond the grave?

    - when he was talking with Leia, Kenobi suggests that Bail was part of the Empire who are helping people. Is that really accurate? I'm sure if you asked Bail himself, he wouldn't consider himself working with the Empire

    - Frek the shuttle driver was one dumb looking alien. It's so distracting when movie aliens talk without moving their mouths in sync; you're instantly reminded that it's a costume.

    - So Obi-Wan remembers a younger brother? That's certainly news. Unless he was somehow talking about Anakin; though he suggested he remembered a baby crying when he was taken as a youngling.

    - So of course they get a Quinlan Vos name drop. I know that Kenobi was "friends" with Quinlan, though how often they were together is up in the air. Of course I'm still waiting/hoping for an Ahsoka name drop. It's got three episodes to go.

    - As anticipated, we get the second Kenobi/Vader match in this episode. It already seemed that Vader has the upper hand between the two of them; which begs the question, what does he mean in the "Now I am the Master" quote in ANH? The way I see it, he already could claim that about a decade before.

Overall it was a fine episode. Not overwhelmingly spectacular for me, but it was good for moving the story along.

    _ _ _ _

I had the opposite experience. I grew-up in the UK watching the original films in the original language. When I moved to Berlin back in the late 90s, I watched the OT in German with my girlfriend prior to the release of TPM - she had never seen the OT - and I found it equally strange. That also reminds me of seeing something on German TV where Bruce Willis was introduced to the guy who is the German "voice" of Bruce Willis in films. It was kinda funny.

    Trying to make him out the biggest idiot in the Galaxy. Pondering on whether to;
1, Walk through the fire in his armoured suit.
2, Jump over the puddle of fire using the Force.
3, Extinguish the fire using the Force (as he had done literally seconds ago).
4, Force push or Force grab the dorkdroid.
5, Order the Stormtroopers to run through the fire in their armoured suits.
6, Order the Stormtroopers to shoot dorkdroid.

Nope, none of these, you just stand there greatest Force User in the Galaxy, Chosen One, as dorkdroid slowly lifts up Kenobi only a few metres away with just a knee high fire between you. Absolute tripe.

This episode improves on a number of elements from the first two.

In particular, Reva is a more convincing and complex villain due to the writing and more nuanced acting.

The action is more serious and presents darksiders as they should be, terrifying and deadly.

The music was effectively terrifying and moody while in the first episodes I can't even remember it.

Overall, the imagery was very effective, especially Mustafar and Vader, but the planet Mapuzo was uninspired and cheap looking -- it looks less like an exploited mining region and more like some backlot in the American west. Filoni's The Jedi episode much more effectively expressed the destructive aspects of Imperial exploitation.

One of the most powerful episodes of SW TV yet. I'll slightly downgrade my earlier 10 to a 9.5.

@CrazyOldJedi Vader clearly let Kenobi go intentionally. He wants to see who is helping him because he's all about rooting out any rebellious elements.

Watched it. Loved it. Very strong episode, and Leia was great here. Her and Obi-Wan's little exchange on the transport was a great little moment. I think the standout moment of the episode was the Stormtrooper getting cut in half by the gate. I genuinely thought they were going to cut away as he was falling. Looked great, haha. Loved the opening with Obi-Wan trying to contact Qui-Gon, with Vader getting assembled. Phenomenal. During the run-up to this series, I thought the big payoff was going to be the "re-match" between Vader and Ben, but I actually think the true payoff will be Obi-Wan contacting Qui-Gon.

I think Reva is heading for a fall, though. I can see one of three outcomes. She either gets killed by Vader, the Grand Inquisitor or somehow escapes and goes in hiding.
