I don't think this is supposed to be their real fight of the show, it's more like a setup. I would expect that Obi-Wan will get out of his funk by the end and they have a more epic duel on somewhat more equal terms then.

Wasn't overly impressed with the look of the fight though. Even for what it was supposed to be, it felt a bit off.

Overall I think it was a good episode, but not particularly great. None of the three episodes so far came remotely close to the best episodes of The Mandalorian to me (including the Mando-episode in TBOBF), but then again, none of them were on a level with the weaker episodes from the two other shows either. That's pretty solid, but I hope to get at least one or two really great episodes out of this.

I'm missing the chapter titles like those from The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

What would you name each of these last three episodes? I'll give it a go:

    Chapter 1 - The Wanderer
    Chapter 2 - The Search
    Chapter 3 - The Trail

I rewatched Part III as soon as I could, because I know from experience that I can never fully appreciate a new Star Wars film/series on the first watchthrough. Especially when it comes to big events like this.
I have to acclimate myself to it and rewatch it to see it for what it really is - and let me tell you, this brief showdown is an excellent teaser/warm-up for what's to come. After all those years of not being a Jedi and believing Anakin was gone for good, Obi-Wan was completely unprepared for this, so he is appropriately overwhelmed.
You can also tell from the way Vader speaks and acts that his hatred for Obi-Wan is VERY strong. Seeing him drag his old master through the fire as revenge for what he put him through is both horrifying and heartbreaking. "You should have killed me when you had the chance" may sound like a cliche, but when you think about it, he really means it. He does not want to live like this. He WISHES that Obi-Wan had killed him. But because he didn't, because he put him through all of that pain and misery, he is going to make him suffer as he has.
And that's a whole tragedy in itself.

As I said, Obi-Wan was completely unprepared. Physically, sure, but emotionally most of all. The man is traumatized! He's depressed! He understands what needs to happen, that when the time comes, Luke and Leia must be trained, but he's just not ready to pick up his lightsaber and be a Jedi again.
He needs to get his mojo back and by the end of this series, he will probably have done just that. Then, HE will be the one to confront his nemesis and a more even - and epic - fight will ensue.

Yeah, and when Vader says "I am what you created' (paraphrasing), he doesn't mean due to Ben's teachings, he means ... you didn't have the guts to kill me, and now look at the monster I've become, that you allowed to happen. He's been suffering for 10 years. He should be dead. And the one person who's fault that is, is Obi-wan. That's why he wants to drag him through fire. That's why he wants to toy with him. And maybe even use Obi to find the Path and the other Jedi out there, as bait.

I hope that in their next encounter, there's more talking. They are somewhat evolved characters by the time ANH happens. Obi has accepted what Vader has become, but he may have also tried to save him from this path at least once. That Obi wan, if he is to show up in this show, has to have the spark of hope rekindled in him.

who would have thought this series would be the quest to get Leia home

if Hayden never speaks is his participation less a big deal than people thought?

Looking at some more responses, I want to make the general point (to noone in particular) that Obi-Wan being "on edge" all the time, and easily triggered--for instance, wanting to leave immediately when the contact doesn't show up on time, or some of his short, snippy comments to Leia--is all very consistent with PTSD symptomatology. It's quite well-done, I thought.

It would be a disappointment. But I am still satisfied with his amazing body acting

I need to see Hayden as Anakin again. That little glimpse of him in Obi’s hallucination hit differently. If not here, just greenlight a live action Clone Wars miniseries with these two

Why DID the fire go out? That confused me. Ah never mind.

I think that Vader didn’t kill Obi-Wan because Kenobi’s plot armor is unbeatable.

I have a theory, Reva takes Leia to Mustafar, Vader’s Castle. Obi-Wan recovers and goes there to rescue Leia, facing Vader once more, hence the promotional art:

I see scenes between Leia and Vader.

I am really enjoying these series so far...giving so much new depth to the story and characters. I'm looking forward to the next three and then being able to look back at the entirety of the story arcs and character arcs.

A general thing I've noticed is this: We've seen 3 episodes of a 6 episode story. So far, I'm seeing some familiar beats from the prequels. Episode 3: Vader/Obi-Wan fight, the impact of ROTS is strongly felt. Episode 2: Obi-Wan investigating, urban chase, "death sticks." Episode 1: Tatooine, Luke and his family, cantina trouble. There's probably others...I found this interesting. I look forward to Leia being sassy to Vader in episode 4. :p Wait, she's gonna be rescued isn't she??

Vader blew it out when he Force Pushed Kenobi. The turncoat re-ignited the flames by which time Vader had completely forgotten how to put them out again.

I'd really love for one of these shows to be set on Coruscant. I'd love to see the Imperial Capitol, in its heyday.

Ha! That makes sense. A lot of time passed after he blew out the fire.

You know how sometimes you walk into a room to get something and then as soon as you walk into the room you forget why you’re in there? That’s probably what happened to Vader after he blew the fire out the first time. He was all, “wait what am I doing here? I knew I shouldn’t have put my mask and helmet on at the same time today. Totally threw off my rhythm.”

    NOW, YOU WILL SUFFER!

Force pulls the man who burned him through fire.

I never imagined it and that’s partially why I love it so. Pure vengeance.
