Can I choose the forest moon of Endor, instead?

Tatooine. I’ve always thought that I’d make a good itinerant drunkard. I think that goal could be easily achieved on Tatooine. The swampy mugginess of Dagobah would likely inflame my athletes foot.

Coruscant. I like the night life. But if given a choice, Tatooine.

Tatooine at least seems to have some population centers, whereas Dagobah seems to be inhabited by nobody but Yoda, so I'd go with Tatooine.

I have no desire to live in a swamp full of snakes, bugs, and slimy bog water. Yuck.

OTOH, I know what it's like to live in a desert with sand that gets everywhere, and I've experienced how rough and irritating it is. No thanks.

So, do I want to take a chance on Dagobah, see if it's as bad as I imagine, or is it a case of better-the-devil-you-know on Tatooine?

Nah, if you need me, look for me on Bespin. :p

Ha! I've always wanted to start a thread like this...

Of all the Star Wars exile scenarios (I know we are talking about the OT...the "Only Trilogy" :D) I always thought Luke had a good set up on Ahch To. The Erso's set up on Lah'mu was also nice. I'm coming at this from the angle of food, water, shelter, company, safety, danger, weather, adventure etc etc etc

Of the 2 options you layed out from the OT? Dagobah. Similar to @Sarge I hate sand.

Dagobah has the sort of solitude I would love, but would be absolute hell on my asthma and allergies, so no.

Tatooine is unfortunately populated, but the few times I've been in the desert has been great for my asthma and allergies, so I voted for Tatooine. I'd have to live in the Jundland Wastes or one of the dune seas. Not close to Kenobi, mind you, I'd want to stay well away from that weirdo.

Hoth would be good, too. Nothing there except wampas, tauntauns, and an abandoned rebel base I could use as shelter. I'd have to slaughter a tauntaun to wear as clothing, but I'm used to cold climates, so it's all good.

Tatooine, but probably away from known Tusken camps or settlements where raiders and the Hutts are known to prowl xD

I am thinking Dagobah has got to be like living in the middle of the Everglades, on steroids - and at least for the time Luke was there it seemed always dark and gloomy. If we assume that the entire planet was like the area where Yoda was living...nah, not for me. I'd have to go with Tatooine, if that's the alternative!

No idea, as I don't know nearly anything about Dagobah. SW tends to oversimplify planets.... desert planet, swamp planet, forest moon etc. The prequels are far more diverse. What is Naboo? A lake planet? Meadow planet? Ocean planet? All we know is it's relatively small. Kamino? Rain planet? It does rain during the short time Obi-Wan is there. But does that mean the weather never changes? It does seem to be covered to a large part with ocean. But then again so is Earth. Geonosis? No idea. We do see an area with rocks and sand. But how do we know what the rest of the planet is like? Same with Utapau and most other planets in ROTS.
Since Tatooine comes from the OT, we can safely call it "desert planet". And there is nothing to indicate otherwise. We all know it's based on Arrakis, which is truly a desert planet. But the others? Not sure. Why can't SW planets be as diverse as Earth? We only see very limited locations, never the entire planet or moon. For all we know, Dagobah may have oceans, deserts, mountains, glaciers etc.
What is Earth then? Judging from SW locations alone it could be called desert planet, snow planet, rain forest planet, lake planet etc.
Same as Middle Earth. What kind of "planet" would that be. The entire trilogy was shot in one single country, and still we have very diverse landscapes and climates. And LOTR is set in only a fraction of the entire world.
Comparing Tatooine to Dagobah is like comparing, well, apples and oranges, for lack of a better phrase. Dagobah is entirely artificial, all shot in a studio, while Tatooine is represented by real locations, Tunisia, Malta, Death Valley, Arizona, plus indoors studio shots.

No, just giving reasons why I wouldn't personally choose a place of exile without knowing anything about it. After all we are talking exile, not a 2-week holiday. Anyway, just for fun, I voted for Tatooine. A lot more seems to be happening there than on Dagobah. :D

Tatooine is too hot and dry. I'll filter some swamp water. Granted Tatooine vs. Dagobah is a very poor choice in general.

Tattooine. The food choices might be slightly more variable and edible.

I hate the heat but I'd hang out in the cantina on Tatooine. Dagobah is too wet.

That would be much easier for me. I hate cold weather, so Hoth would be out, unless it has a more temperate zone. So it would have to be Mustafar. The entire moon/planet can't possibly be all lava?

It’s Star Wars. The whole planet is basically lava, just like Tatooine is basically all desert and Coruscant is basically all one big city.

They even made a VR game to explain why in TROS there was a bit of planet on Mustafar that wasn't all lava. ;)

Of the two options given, I'd have to go with Tattoine. Bit more of civilization to get lost in versus a swamp full of critters, pod racing to watch and pass the time on.

But seeing as how I'm hot natured, the suns and heat would toast me so I'd rather choose Hoth instead. Cold, snow, abadoned Rebel bases to scavenge (maybe) and plus, Tauntauns seem to mover faster than Dewbacks.
