Looks great! So much stuff happening and what looks like a good ensemble cast to move the story onwards. Lots to take in and get excited about for sure. Bravo Disney.

Can't believe they delayed the release date just to prove certain predictions here wrong! August is just not meant to be a Star Wars thing.

 

Honestly, there is no such thing as a bad Star Wars trailer.

 

Another very promising trailer, and while the vfx look great what’s more interesting is an ensemble cast - helmet-less - getting into what seems to be high stakes drama.

I almost agree. SW puts out the best trailers always but the first TBOBF trailer was a dud

 

Oh my god this looks insanely good. I just love that they are showing both the politics behind the Rebellion and the boots on the ground soldiers fighting the war. I am so pumped to see this! And a three episode premiere!

 

I don’t mind the delay. It’ll be here before you know it.

I’m on vacation and just visited Galaxy’s Edge, Black Spire Outpost. The Rise of Resistance and Smuggler’s Run were completely immersive and the family loved it. Although I couldn’t help noticing that the Imagineers need to incorporate more of the Rogue One aesthetic.

I don’t mind the delay, actually it’s kind of a bonus for me since I’ve been canceling the Disney+ subscription after season finales. I’ll watch the three episode opener and then check out the ILM documentary.

Do we have confirmation on episode length? I’m guessing ~30min each? Considering the breadth of the ensemble, we might might be looking at dedicated “pov episodes” for the main players, Andor, Mothma and Skarsgard’s character.

 

So the planet we see at the very beginning I’m guessing is Cassian’s home planet. We see the boy (I’m guessing that’s a young Cassian) who is sneaking into some kind of Imperial ship or something (possibly the ship that is seen crashing in the first trailer) and he’s wearing the same kind of clothing that others on that planet seem to wear. We then see the same boy looking out at a massive mining operation or something. I’m guessing this is all part of a prologue which sees Cassian’s planet get destroyed by the Empire.

 

And at some point he infiltrates the Imperial Navy. Maybe he joins and defects to the Rebel Alliance like Biggs from the Imperial Academy.

Or it’s an infiltration of some kind. As he says in the voice over all you have to do is act like you belong because the Empire is too arrogant to suspect that anyone would dare infiltrate their base or even have the means to.

 

There was also the briefest glimpse of Cassian in a complete white indoor environ and white suit which gave the impression of being held captive since he attacked or punched a door/wall (reeducation?) It completely invoked the THX 1138 aesthetic. That was like

Yeah, we’ve seen some kind of Imperial prison. Maybe trying to break out some important political dissident is a part of the show.

 

Have the creators confirmed that this is a seasonal series or just a one off? Although I liked Rogue One it’s not something I re-watch often and I’m not a major SW series fan, excepting Mando, this trailer has me seriously intrigued.

Confirmed. You can see Moroff in the background of the shot with Two-Tubes and when Saw's crew pulls their guns on (presumably) Stellan's character. That's all I asked for. More of Moroff.

It is a complete story of 2 seasons, with each season containing 12 presumably hour-long episodes. It leads directly into Rogue One.

I think we're meant to think the boy is Cassian, but it isn't, as the facility looks Imperial and Andor as a boy should be pre-Empire (he and his family were Separatists when he was little). Maybe they are showing one of the morally-questionable things that Andor and the Rebels do? Like, sending a local boy into danger (into an Imperial facility) because he fits through passages that they can't, or something? Either that, or this Imperial-looking facility is simply an early precursor to Imperial stuff. Maybe something Palpatine was building...

Cassian was only 7 when the Empire was officially declared and that kid looks older than 7. And isn’t there a quote somewhere from Gilroy about how Cassian’s home planet gets taken over by the Empire?

EDIT: Also Fest (his home planet) is described as cold and mountainous.
