Not sure what its specific placement in the timeline is, since it isn't directly adapting any of the existing novels, but it is set to primarily focus on the Bene Gesserit. Chernobyl's Johan Renck is directing the first two episodes of the series.

Hope he goes a bit farther than in the first Dune movie, I was not impressed by his work for that one. Which was a surprise since Zimmer have done lots of soundtracks that I like.
The emperor in David Lynch’s Dune played by Jose Ferrer and is in Lawrence of Arabia which Dune seems to take inspiration from. Wondering if their is any connection with roles Walken has had compared to Ferrer.
