Amph "There's More Than One King" - The MonsterVerse [Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire]

I will not be interested in a Kong series, but a Gojira series, that I’d watch.

 

Godzilla is confirmed to be in this Apple+ series. Kong is not.

The upcoming MonsterVerse-canon Netflix anime, however, is Kong focused and titled Skull Island.

 

Oh cool! Gojira!!!

 

Finally finishing Singular Point. Ii see the red mist is similar to the red stuff from Shin Godzilla. That said some of the theories espoused are mind numbing.

 

New trailer for the upcoming short film celebrating the 50th anniversary of Godzilla vs Gigan, titled Godzilla vs Gigan: Rex.

 

Is this real? If not, it really needs to be!

 

It's real. The short film releases in November.

 

Gigan is one of my favorite monsters!

 

That Godzilla looks great. Can't wait for the full thing to come out so we can get a better look at him.

 

So uhhhh, I have NO idea what's going on here. But that's Godzilla's roar at the end.

Watched Invasion of Astro-Monster last night. Really liked it. Cool special fx.

Going to check out Ebirah, Horror of the Deep next.

 

Nick Adams is in that. I like him. He was also in Rebel Without a Cause. I like Sea Monster too. Its very different and was originally a Kong movie.

Astronaut Glenn. He is cool.

 

Struggling to finish Godzilla Singular Point. It is so confusing in science, occult, and metaphysics. They didn’t have a character for the geniuses to try and explain what is happening to; instead its like being in a room with experts all speaking in jargon that hasn’t been explained to.

 

Ebirah is a fun picture. Nice change of pace being set on the islands and the score contributing to the comedic tone. Loved the Mothra cameo by the end.

Next up, Son of Godzilla lol.

Wanna watch Godzilla’s Revenge this weekend?

 

I am not sure how much I will be around this weekend yet. But definitely soon.

 

Worth pointing out, a lot of Toho's harder to find non-Godzilla Showa era films from Ishiro Honda have been added to the Criterion channel. I think Rodan and War of the Gargantuas have always been on there but in addition now you can also find The Mysterians, Varan the Unbelievable, Atragon, Matango, Dogora, Frankenstein vs Baragon (often better known as Frankenstein Conquers the World), and Space Amoeba.

Of those, I've seen Rodan, War of the Gargantuas, Matango, and just watched Frankenstein vs Baragon last night (I figured it counts as a Halloween month viewing given certain subject matter ). Matango is actually a really excellent horror film that comes with my highest recommendation. I can't wait to check out all the others on this list that I haven't yet seen. Dogora has an insanely cool looking creature, from what I've seen, so that one especially has my interest.

 

K, I’ll give it a watch myself. I am nostalgic.

Gigan Rex does looks good. Lets see Kaiser Ghidorah..Gigan Rex.. seems like many are trying to challenge Godzilla’s King of Monsters title.

Kidding of course. I just watched that for the first time a few months ago. Yes I was inebriated and yes I recommend being in a similar state to make it through.

All Monsters Attack remains the only Godzilla I've never seen.

 

Turns out this is a marathon of Godzilla movies happening on Scream's livestream, with Carpenter hosting/announcing/talking about each one in between films. So no actual Carpenter Godzilla project, unfortunately.
