It becomes doubly hilarious when you realize that just about every review for that game had opinions along the lines of “The combat system could be better, but it’s understandable since they switched over from a beat em up to a turn based RPG late in development.”
I haven't played 7 yet but I don't mind the idea of the switch to RPG. Because hell any fight system would be stale after like ten games and spinoffs.
I think people were mostly weirded out (beyond the perceived genre change; internally it’s a more consistent “this is an RPG” philosophy) because they made a huge deal about the new engine for 6 and only got two mainline games out of it.
Good news - Ishin is up for preorder. Bad news - Base's price right now is £63.85! Ouch. Hopefully it'll reduce a bit.
I would assume the first price was based on the usual MSRP for new releases and the second price is based on the actual MSRP, which is like “Hey goober, it’s a remake!”
I don't think it's up all on the the US PS store yet Edit: wait I found it... $60 for base game. It comes out in February... I'll just ask for PSN money for Christmas
I'm wondering how long it'll last, as they still have the RRP being £69.99, so this is quite the discount. It is a more niche product I suppose.
Yep. Base have been great for the last few years, it's why I preorder stuff from them. They charge at disoatch too, not point of order. For the big games the discounts tend to be less but they quietly price match if it reduces. Currently I have GoW: Ragnarok at £59.86 but it could end up being a bit less.
There’s a $70 Digital Deluxe edition that comes with, in addition to some upgrade materials, a Dragon of Dojima skin. shutupandtakemymoney.jpg
Upgrade materials and a skin won’t do me any good once I’ve beaten the game. Plus we must continue to throw money at RGG so that they continue to throw games at us.
They're getting another £43.85 plus preorders for Gaiden and Yakuza 8, that's quite enough. Besides, you'll just boot it up in NG+.
I bought all these games on sale recently. Except 6. So far I have beaten 0, K1, K2 and am now on Judgement. Plat K2. I can't believe I booted up Judgement and went to play Mahjong at earliest opportunity.
Oh and as someone with very limited free time (queue 'why would you start this series') CyricZ Patriarch of the GameFAQs Family is a god amongst men.
Just out of curiosity, why skip 3-6 and go straight to Judgment? Did you need a break from KIRYU-CHAN?
Judgement was on sale first so I started playing it before I got 3 to 5. I don't have 6 yet as wasn't on sale.
It's chapter 6 and I've played four hours of mahjong trying to get all triplets and 5 open riichi. Send help!
Why are we not talking about the Ishin: Like a Dragon combat trailer that dropped? Four styles: - Sword - Gun - Fists - Majima-style Mad **** Looks gloriously epic and bonkers.
