I just think it's Gilroy's style. More realistic, more gritty, more grounded. Look at the 'toys' that Bourne gets compared to Bond.

Stormtroopers are for important installations, normal infantry are everywhere else.

I kinda like how we haven't had any stormtroopers yet. Being able to see the Imperials faces makes them more human and creates more drama. Stormtroopers have been a joke for decades. They're less threatening than human Imperials. Every time they show up we're instantly reminded about how they can't shoot and how buffoonish and ineffective they are. They're supposed to be the galaxy's threat but they're the butt of a joke time and time again.

When it was said that the stormtroopers slaughtered Cinta's entire family I appreciated the attempt to make them actually feel scary but that feeling was undercut by years of seeing stormtroopers portrayed as a bunch people that can't find their own ass with both hands.

It is too slow, but then again this show is slower than the others so it maybe reflects that in a way. It doesn't bother me too much.

After watching the last 6 episodes of Andor, and seeing OWK, TM, BOBF, I can really tell now that Andor doesn't use the Volume. Not a criticism of the Volume effects, but you can tell in certain instances.

I know right? Although I do quite like the Andor thing.

Remember how RO began? Why can't TV shows do similar intros?

This is something I’ve really enjoyed so far. It made this heist more believable for a handful of rebels to pull off, starting with a small imperial base with seemingly little need for a stormtrooper garrison

Apparently, this is the audience demand for the star wars shows.

Im a bit surprised if true as i thought Obi Wan had the most hype, But it seems like by each show its going down.

Interesting data, not surprising though, imho. Mandalorian’s big hook was Baby Yoda, which makes sense as Yoda is one of the franchise’s most popular characters, maybe the biggest. Obi-wan had Vader, but didn’t market him very well in the promos, and when he did finally show up the low production value made it his least impressive appearance to date. And then there’s Andor, which I suspect many non-fans would not even be able to identify as Star Wars without the branding.

Who knows how accurate the metrics are, but further convinced me that Andor is a show for the hardcore fans and probably not anyone else.

It will be intresting how Ahsoka will faire and Skeleton crew, one is total new thing and one is an animataed character made some appearances in Mandalorian and book of boba. The Acolyte will be the true test if star wars is marketable outside the skywalker saga.

Just for the avoidance of doubt, these are not absolute viewing numbers because we know for sure that the S2 of Mandalorian has more views than S1. This chart only compares the demand of the tracked show with the average streaming show. Mando S1 had very little competition compared with the todays shows (for instance, Andor is competing with HoT, Rings of Power and She-Hulk). That being said, it is absolutely not surprising that Andor is lacking behind other popular shows. It is like comparing a Scorsese's movie to a Marvel blockbuster. But this doesn't mean that Andor is a commercial failure. If it was, they wouldn't have ordered the second season. I would advise not to worry about the future of Star Wars on TV.

Not sure if people would think this a spoiler but still...
So, we get a stand alone story in the next episode. Any guesses? My guess would be Andor trying to track down his sister and Luthen trying to track down Andor.
From an EmpireOnline podcast with Tony Gilroy (sorry don't have the link)
    1-3 - Ferrix
    4-6 - Heist
    7 - It's own thing
    8-10 - Arc
    11-12 - Finale[spoiler/]

I believe Gilroy described it as "Interesting". And yeah, we've still got that episode with Clonetroopers.

It would be interesting to see this episode show Cassian look for his sister while having flashbacks to being with the Seperatist army. We've heard about his time on Mimban and I know that I have been wanting this story from the beginning. We got how Cassian was found and then cared for, now let's find his roots fighting the Republic. And yes, this means bringing on those scenes with the phase II armor clones!

I'm glad someone brought this up, because I have been thinking about this for over a week.
My initial thought had been that this could be a Ferrix rebellion episode with very little (if any) Cassian. It could set up everything that is going down since the Empire arrived, and tie into the finale when Cassian returns to the planet.
After last week's episode had only a small amount of Mon and Luthen at the very end, my thought changed to this possibly being a rebel leadership centric episode with very little (if any) Cassian. Maybe getting into Mon bringing in her new partner that could help launder money. Maybe making contact with Saw's Partisan's and establishing how they tie into what Mon and Luthen are doing.
But it could also be very tightly a Cassian episode. What he does with himself after he gets out. Starting to read Nemik's manifesto. Clarifying his headspace. Maybe ending with him deciding he wants to be part of the rebellion after all. Or maybe pointing him in a direction that sets up his next arc.

The Andor series pretty much precludes that.
Andor is 26 in Rogue One, 16 at the Battle of Mimban (10 BBY) and 9 when taken from Kenari, about two years after the Clone Wars ended.

Kenari flashback, yes. Mimban would be around Clone Wars or soon after.

Hmm, now I'm wondering what kind of welcome Cassian will get if and when he returns to Ferrix? I could see Cassians friends being angry that his actions have brought the full weight of Empire to Ferrix.
