Like the old dismemberment mod you could get for Jedi Outcast, body parts flying everywhere once you got a lightsaber

Heck, that wasn't even a mod - that's just g_sabermorerealistic 1-20, where 3+ made limbs fly off if the lightsaber so much as touches enemies; plus, it also made the reborn infinitely more dangerous since it worked on all lightsabers

At least regular stormies died in one hit, and tougher enemies also get one-shot once their guard was broken, but it's nice that people have made a damage multiplier mod to actually make the lightsaber dangerous again - I usually have it set to roughly 2.1, which speeds fights up immensely

    I'm looking forwards to this.

It'll be interesting to explain the typical Bag of spilling that happens at the start of most sequels.

Horizon FW did it quite well for the intro level with a throw away comment about a bad trip and literally losing her bag and her super armour's power source ran out. Outside that obvious stuff to keep was kept so it didn't frustrate players of the first game too much. It'll be interesting to see how they reintroduce wall walking etc...

I'm not sure they will do that here, going by the interview. Instead it'll probably be:

"Yeah, sure you have the moves from the old game but they're not much use now, you got to learn to use new stuff, gadgets and stances".

Kinda wild that this one is releasing in only three months. Since that high-water mark of content output in 2019, we ended up getting a triple-A Star Wars game before we got a new Star Wars movie.

2023 looks to be a good year for games with the first 6 months at least getting a game a month thats potentially worth getting (YMMV with some)

Off the top of my head, there’s Diablo 4, Tears of the Kingdom, RE4 remake, Hogwarts Legacy, and Starfield all coming out in the next six months. 2023 is going to be a fantastic year for gaming.

Balls. Survivor has been bumped to 28 April!

    I'm OK with this.

    Im not.

Push it 1 more week and release it on May the 4th or Revenge of the 5th like the rest of us nerds would nerdgasm over instead.

Yea take all the time you need. If you need the extra month to clean some bugs better to do it before launch

Plus, this pushes it away from the Resident Evil 4 remake

Good news about this: it gives me time to finish Hogwarts Legacy, RE4, and other games on my backlog.

Bad: it’s going to overlap with Tears of the Kingdom, and potentially both games will overlap with Starfield.

Chatter says you don't have to worry about a Starfield overlap.

    Zelda, however....

Fine by me. That's gonna be a time of year when I can actually play it.

Spaces out the spend on games nicely too.

Maybe I can finally finish the main campaign of Horizon Forbidden West I need that extra month (but I'll probably end up doing Burning Shores also)

Some gameplay footage for those interested, purportedly from the early game:

Looks pretty, and the animal variety is pleasant. It still feels a bit off that Cal ends up killing so many of them though, I would prefer they give him some force power to "calm" the little beasties. I imagine that running/avoiding them will still be an option for most parts, like in the first game.

If I was to say: I own this game, but have not gotten into yet.

What would you guys say to get me into it since clearly I’m into Star Wars and clearly I liked something about the gameplay I saw?

It has a great story, characters & worlds.
If you like previous Star Wars games like the Jedi Knight series you'll probably enjoy Fallen Order because it's very similar to those

It takes a long time for the big story moments, Cal's character development to really kick in. The dramatic "payoffs" begin around 65-75% through the story iirc. If you enjoy the combat, it will get progressively more complicated/challenging to keep things interesting, and the progression of boss fights was satisfying for me. Not sure how many spoilers you've seen, but there are some famous locations to be visited too.

One of the few SW games without tatooine.

    Reason enough.

If anyone has Playstation Plus Fallen Order is still available, I have it on PS4 I didn't even bother to download a PS5 version just due to laziness.
