This works amazingly well.

 

Interesting review for a couple of reasons. 1. Holy crap do they give a lot away! 2. After the orgy chamber battle clip Siskel makes this comment about wanting less music as it softens what's going on. I mean, is that sarcasm? But they both liked the movie.

 

Less music? Please, no. That's a fantastic score, as big and bombastic as a movie about Conan should be.

 

Too bad Conan the Destroyer was godawful. They even dumbed down the ****ing score.

 

Yeah, I saw Destroyer before Barbarian. And I still like the movie, it was played many times when it first came to cable in the 80's. So one day while flipping channels I cam across a bodybuilding show and dude was posing to the original theme and this was the first time I heard it the better way. Happily a week later the 1st film came on and thrilled me to death. In fact i can credit it with making me more interested in music.

Even though I love this film it is not truly 100% Conan. Neither is the most recent film attempt though people say Momoa did well with the character. The 90's tv series was ok. Comics have done ok but generally veer off somewhere. I would like to see a book to tv shot for shot attempt.

 

I'd still love to see Arnold as King Conan with a heavy brow upon the throne, Netflix seems to know that people like the nostalgia kicks in their reboot franchises so not unlikely. hopefully.

Just found this thread tonight and sent it to my favorite Conan cosplayer. A wonderful thread.

 

I think the best thing would be to make a streaming series, with big bucks, and try to closely follow the books.
