Discussion of New Episodes - Rules
    (1) One of the mods will post each week's episode thread a day or two before it airs on Disney+.

    (2) Official episode commentary may be posted in this episode thread.

    (3) Discussion in the actual episode thread will be limited to that specific episode, NOT future episodes; past episodes may be referenced. Speculation based on released material is permitted.

    (4) The Bad Batch episodes air on Wednesday on Disney+. Anyone who shares plot details about an episode before then must use spoiler tags. After that folks will begin discussing their reviews and thoughts without tags which will likely include spoilers. To anyone concerned about being spoiled before watching the episode it is your responsibility to avoid the thread until you have had your chance to view.

    (5) All leaks and rumors must be spoiler tagged until they are either proven or disproven.

    (6) Reviews for each episode may be posted once they have aired. One of the mods will add a grading poll to that episode's discussion thread.

Wow. I loved the solitary clone's montage scene, and great choice of music. I was expecting Neil Diamond's Solitary Man, but no, they went in a totally different direction. The Simon & Garfunkel remix of I Am A Rock was genius.

It was heartbreaking to see confirmation of Boga's death in Cody's flashback.

    I'm confused.

I think this is a bit so I'll just, err, assume it is for now. :p

    Oh, and:

A good Star Wars YouTuber, which is rare nowadays; gives you the news, has lots of optimism, and doesn't have any drama unlike the other Star Wars YouTube channels, imho.

Hell, I'd be all ears to know another good Star Wars YT channel that isn't endless whining, but I doubt many exist.

I would also add Star Wars Explained to the list of positive YouTube channels.

I was NOT expecting the episode to start with the camera panning down from the cliff and showing Wilco just getting up, brushing himself off and walking away.

Bag of grenades clone is my star wars favourite character.

It's interesting to see the insides of imperial life, getting up at what looks like a very early hour of the morning.

Good to see that Cody isn't rationalising everything the empire does, he's probably having thoughts about Obi-Wan all through this. I hope he comes back later as an allay to the batch.

Great episode, RIP bag of grenades clone

And now it's canon that steak knives and blowtorches are effective weapons against Battledroids.

Cody gave Crosshair a look when he said the Jedi were traitors, he really seemed conflicted. I think it's a foregone conclusion that Rex is gonna help Cody get that chip out of his head. I was not expecting this episode to be as meaningful as it was, and we had none of our regular heroes appear.

This continues the weird trend of me usually particularly loving the third episodes of Disney plus shows.

Damn that episode, felt sorry for the Governor and her people. Cody was MVP this episode.

Awesome episode. Cody really was a star. Some great action, too. But overall, it made you feel for the people of that planet.
I do wonder if Cody is what Rex's mission for the Batch is. Helping him get off Coruscant. Unlikely we're seeing it until the midseason two-parter, but I really want to see how all that plays out right now. Because if there's one thing I'm certain of, it's that they wouldn't kill Cody off-screen.

The Bad Batch is back to form. After I've felt a bit lukewarm about the first two, this was a brilliant episode. And the Batch didn't even appear in it. This was a tragedy but it was really well done and hit all the emotional beat. Once again an intresting portrayal of a Separatist holdout and the characterization work done for Cody and Crosshair in this episode was excellent.

This will get 9/10 once the rating poll is up.

That was a truly wonderful episode, quite possibly might be the best so far from both seasons in many ways. There was a LOT of groundwork for future episodes laid here. I know Cody gets MVP and rightly so but Crosshair man, he is a truly messed up character. So much to play out there and what happens when eventually he is likely last clone standing?

Definitely what the mission will be about and very likely next episode. There were a LOT of hints, not even subtle, that the clones are either a ticking timebomb for the empire OR on borrowed time before being replaced / executed by the empire.

And yeah, I know some posters wanted to see Cody stay on the side of the empire but this episode really showed that it can work with him going AWOL. After all, he was with a pretty kind and supportive Jedi in Obi-wan who saved his life a number of times and I feel like you could see that sadness when Crosshair mentioned the Jedi being traitors. Very clearly building up to a clone rebellion and you can see why it will fail with there being not enough of them as they continue to be used as cannon fodder but you do wonder if they might well end up being the rebellion starters / trainers like what happened on Onderon.

I feel like this episode should have been the pilot, it immediately clicked into the gear that you would think this season is going to go.

Well, aside from mentions and Kalani's case, it is a first time portrayal of the Empire vs a Separatist holdout in NU Canon, and it was great.

That Cody's negotiation at the end felt very Obi-Wan-like, unsurprisingly,
too bad Crosshair is even more merciless than Anakin.

Crosshair finaly got himself a personal living space. Rampart became too smug, even for a corrupt Imperial officer.

Seriously. Crosshair is one of my favorite SW animation characters, no matter how his arc ends and "heavy" episodes like this add so much to the show(s) as a whole. Very well done.

    Kinda disappointed Cody immediately bailed
Would've preferred he remain loyal to keep the parallels between Anakin and Obi-Wan (one Jedi, one Sith; one Rebel clone, one Imperial clone)
