Since I have been negative about the episode, I do want to say something positive. I actually really like how Navarro looked this episode, with mando walking down the street. It shows the passage of time really well.

Not too bad a premise bearing in mind that so many people in the here and now are willing to resort to violence for seemingly trivial issues. I'm guessing that they still had the booze stashed in the building.

That episode was straight out of a video game. Mando walked around talking to NPCs and getting fetch quests. Actually first he got the main story quest from the armorer to redeem himself and then he went around collecting side quests. Bo Katan lounging around like a Jarl in Skyrim.

He even had a fight against some mobs.

Oh yes I adore Peli , she is great. Anyone who takes care of R5D4 (who can be seen on the street of Navarro) The Frog lady is fun too.
We need to see more of them and here's hoping Sabine can add some of that spunk also later.

See, the thing is that he opens his conversation with Bo with “I’m here to join you” before the waters get brought up later; I think that means that he’s already decided that he wants to see the Mandalorians reunited and Mandalore re-inhabited, and thus either treating his quest to Mandalore as an inevitability… or as something he’s not going to let determine his cultural identity.

Watching it again, Din’s definetly got some assertive, vaguely defiant lines towards both the Armorer and Bo. There’s a lot of “I will succeed” going on with the Armorer, and some “I pf you won’t do it then I will” with Bo.

So if Mando didn't show up at the beginning then the sea monster would've probably wiped out the Armorer and her crew?

The opening action shows the audience that the Children of the Watch desperately need new leadership, and that leader is Din.

    Worldbuilding, worldbuilding, worldbuilding.

An obvious 10 out of 10 from me, I am a sucker for deep dives into the GFFA and the state of the galaxy. A little bit of politics, a little bit of rebuilding on Nevarro, a TON of aliens from many different species (this episode reminded me why Andor is simply at a lower level for me), more Mandalorian lore, and amazing production quality.

I don't think everyone realizes just how much money it must have cost to make that huge beast with CGI and keep a scene that lasted way longer than I thought it would. That thing looked so real. I just love this show. It brings me hope that we perhaps Star Wars has a future after all.

Again, apparently that 12+ group from Season 1 died to stromtroopers, scout troopers, and death troopers even though the Armorer and Paz were seemingly there at the time.

Din seems to be the only associate of the Armorer who understands that withdrawal and tactics are useful, and that “stand your ground!” isn’t always the answer.

Screen Crush flipped and translated the little relic Din had bought off the Jawas from Mandoade t9 English - it’s from the book of Exodus in the Bible, in a passage about the plague of locusts.

Yeah I might've been being too harsh. Still, this was one of the worst Mando episodes that I can remember. Not a great way to kick things off.

Absolutely, when people ask questions like, Why didn't the Watch just fly off? That's the point. This cult is too rigid and needs change.

So after this week's episode and the respective interactions and conversations with the Armourer and Bo-Katan, what I hope does not (and I really mean does not) happen is that after Din goes to Mandalore, that both the Armourer and Bo come back to Din grovelling and saying "we were wrong Din, please show us the way"; whether that be in this season or the next. Please don't cheapen and simplify the narrative like this Fav and Filoni. Please keep the layer of complexity where both ladies continue to believe in their respective ways.

On the contrary, I would prefer the Armourer to still not accept Din back, even after succeeding on Mandalore's. I would like the Armourer to think that the Living Waters thing is a fairytale and because she thinks it's a myth and never achievable, it's just an ideal used to boot a person out if they remove their helmet. And then when Din succeeds, she is surprised to know it is true, but still does not accept him back because regardless, he removed his helmet.

The same goes for Bo and her perspectives. Even if Din unites other clans under holding the Darksaber, Bo cannot join because of her bitterness in wanting to hold it herself and be the Mandalor.

Fav and Dave, please keep layers and complexity. Not everyone has to be under the one group and one leader. Individual characters have the right to act and choose based off what they want and they experience. Things do not have to always tie up neatly under one happy ending. That's not how things happen in our real world and it should not happen either in this fictious world.

I’ve actually wondered if it’s a possibility that Din doesn’t find the waters… but does find some Imperial plot and contingency on Mandalore, and he simply embraces his Mandalorian Identity without the need of the Armorer’s blessing and because he feels his people need to retake their home.

Then you could set-up two different types of conflict and drama with the Armorer and Bo; the Armorer could still be judging Din and giving him something to prove to himself (and thus learn to master the Darksaber), while Bo could be an ally out of necessity who ends up sorely tempted to turn on Din because he doesn’t have the ancestral claim to the cultural identity she has.

Din being able to show his face seems like a victory to me. I don’t want him going back to who he was. I hope he becomes someone better and more free.

I can get on board with this.

I guess when I say what I did, it's the want to have a sense of uniqueness in the Star Wars universe and not have everything to go through a central point. Because in real life and even among a certain demographic of people of the same religious belief, or cultural background, or ethnic background, etc, you will always have good people, *****y people, people who have different perspectives, etc. Even among similarity, there is uniqueness and difference. And why, because even among a demographic group, there is uniqueness to every individual person in what they want and need, how they've been raised and so on.

And this should be achievable in the Star Wars narrative too because it adds layers and complexity.

Bo and the Armorer are like any other characters -- capable of growth and change. It just depends on whether it would be handled effectively.

Eh, it just feels like bad TV to me like the Robert Rodriguez directed episode where Boba Fett comes back and all the stormtroopers are running headlong into oncoming fire.

Scene wasnt great, but it was a sneak attack by the alligator, my thought was why put the grenades on the hard shell, throw them down its throat.

I don't think it was much worse than a random season 2 episode, but after Andor we have become more demanding and less forgiving.
