I take it there was nothing that advanced the actual important storyline from the last two episodes? I saw the screenshots from this episode, and I don't feel like watching. I knew this was gonna happen.

They decide to hunker down, episode ends with a slow fade to black and Hunter remarking that they want to stay for a while. I’m honestly expecting a time jump of a few years.

    besides that, no

So why even rebuild if the tsunami will keep coming back?? A bit silly. At least rebuild with a huge perimeter wall or do some cool SW scientific stuff to mitigate the tsunamis. Especially if the BB want to live there (for awhile at least). But my biggest concern is that wherever they choose to settle down, they're just going to bring unwanted attention. This will end badly for the Pabuvians.

They didn't specify what type of "rebuilding" is to be done. If the plan is to indeed rebuild exactly along the same lines as what was there, then....yeah, Star Wars will be promoting the kind of unsustainable "rebuild" philosophy that plagues coastal communities these days. But again, they weren't specific about it. Maybe that'll be addressed in the next episode.

Yeah this does need to be addressed. But I think there is also a good justification for rebuilding in the episode itself. This is a community of war refugees and when Hunter asks the mayor about the possibillity of the Empire showing up, he clearly considers the fact that this is a somewhat remote place without any resources worth taking as a major feature and I'm sure many of the people within the community feal the same. This place is their refuge, so you can see why they wouldn't abandon it that easily, even if living there is not particularly sustainable. Now whether these features will actually keep the Empire away remains to be seen, due to it's desire to controll everything, and of course the Batch, that is highly unlikely but I found the reasoning believable.

As for the episode itself. It was certainly not as good or remotely as exciting as the one's before. But it did major character work by finally moving the Batch out of the whole doing missions for Cid inertia. Now many people would have liked to see them do this by joining Rex's clone rebellion. But settling down on a remote island to live a normal life actually made more sense for me with how they've been developing the Batch this season. I still found the episode itself pretty mediocre but I can certainly appreciate what they're doinh here and it looked amazing as always. The tsunami also felt really threatening.

Now with the Empire looking for them and Cid positioned to give the Empire some help in finding them, this is obviously not going to last. But maybe we'll actually see a time jump, depending how long the Empire and/or Cid take to find them. So this episode was probably just a short breather between episode that do heavy duty action and emotional work and also really finally moves the Batch forward. Since it is also somewhat boring though, I'll give it 7/10.

This episode felt like TBB's version of The Sanctuary in Mando Season 1. The story structure felt almost identical accept it was a natural / environmental threat (as opposed to a creature one) and TBB have decided to stay; as opposed to Din and Grogu leaving in their story.

I enjoyed the episode, but certainly not compelling story and character-wise like the the last two episodes.

It was great to see Omega experiencing what peace and tranquillity (well, before the tidal wave) feels like for the first time. You can even see Hunter unwind a little and loosen the protective straps around Omega. But the Empire is still never far from his mind when he asks the Mayor if he's worried about the Empire.

Seems like a love interest is developing for Tech (probably one way still at this point). Even Wrecker appeared to have a little dig as he mentions that Tech may have some competition when the Mayor was approaching. And at the end, even when Hunter mentioned they could stay, it appeared Tech may have already made up his mind regardless of Hunter's thoughts.

Great to see these Clones (including Crosshair) becoming increasingly individual in what they want. Less a group and more a character in their own rights.

Interesting that Cid has never been shown Pabu. Probably because Cid would exploit and plunder a place like this.

And speaking of Cid, the true Cid is quickly emerging when TBB don't do what she says. Most definitely a betrayal is on the cards at some point.

That tsunami didn’t feel threatening at all. You knew Omega was surviving despite Hunter doing his best effort to imitate those idiots in the helicopter in Moonfall which was a truly awful movie.

At least they aren’t doing mission of the week episodes for Cid anymore and as soon as she gets knocked off after betraying the better. I mean it isn’t going to be exactly hard for Cid to tell the empire, hey follow that other lady and you’ll find Okega somewhere.

Great looking episode, didn’t even mind that they found a place to settle down for at least half of next episode but just boring overall again.

I would’ve preferred no tsunami, break up the slower pace with some character building and intrigue at mount Tantiss. I just feel like not everything in Star Wars needs to devolve into some kind of cataclysm.

I saw a glint of it simmering towards the end of the episode with that fond shared gazed that shippers tend to go nuts over (myself included). FWIW, Pabu is the name of the red panda pet belonging to Mako and Bolin in Avatar: Legend of Korra. It’s a reverse throwback to that show.

"Meh" episode for me. The scenery was ok, and the tsunami effects were impressive. (Way uncool to air this episode on March 15th, four days after the 12th anniversary of the Tohoku earthquake/tsunami though. Obviously unintentional, but an unfortunate coincidence.)

    My ranking through 13 episodes:
    12, 3, 7, 8, 9 &10, 11, 6, 13, 1 & 2, 5, 4

Pabu was a pretty setting and the animation was nice. Nice seeing Omega interact with someone her age. Not the most exciting or interesting episode otherwise. 5/10

Halfway through this episode, I was ready for another one of my "They're ripping of Tolkien and Peter Jackson again" rants. Obviously, the circular walled and tiered city with an open courtyard with one tree and a tall tower was a rip off of Minas Tirith. And the harbor looked an awful lot like the Grey Havens.

But I was wrong and I'm big enough to admit it. Pabu is not Minas Tirith.

    Pabu is Numenor.

I had a feeling the episode wouldn’t be that important to the grand scheme of things, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t good. Because this is what Hunter wanted a place to stay. Not that it means it will last. And I am so glad they are done with Sid.

Interesting episode 13 of the first season was about helping Cid between Durand and The Pikes. Episode 13 they ditched her and had a Beach Episode. Phee taking advantage of the Bad Batch by taking them there and convincing them to live at the beach. Hunter experienced where his ability saves lives. Tech will build Pabu to withstand tsunami better. Wrecker will use his strength to rebuild. I'm sure they will do missions with Phee now. I can't ever predict ships right though. So not sure it's wise to imagine proto-At-Ats coming out of the ocean. I know how well walls work in anime most of the time. But I feel like that wierd tree is symbolism or foreshadowing for something. Reminds me of the one Yoda and Dooku spent alot of time under.

It's been a while I've been here on the forums. Been busy with work and stuff. I've been watching episodes still as they come out and this wasn't IMO bad at all. It was a peaceful episode and sure tsunami thing was not particularly exciting, but point was also to show the darker side of Pabu, it was a nice place, but not paradise either. It is overall interesting continuation for their story and how they decide to leave Cid for now for something completely different. I agree that there was a lot of same thematics as in Mandalorian episode "Sanctuary" but it was also different in a way. I'm actually quite interested in how this develops from now on. Something I haven't been for a while in this show. I guess they will rescue Crosshair in the end, but will they settle on Pabu remains to be seen.

Not sure if you find this obvious or not, but I think Pabu is heavily based on Santorini, not sure if you have noticed it already or if you've been there, but I think writers and designers of this episode have been. Very beautiful island in Greece. Santorini is possible location of legendary Atlantis, in ancient volcano large part of island was destroyed long time ago and may have been inspiration for Atlantis myth. In case you didn't know.

Natural disasters and rebuilding is completely realistic too, that's how many communities live and have lived for centuries, tsunamis and stuff happen and you just gotta rebuild afterwards. That's how it works in real life too.

I actually guessed the rumblings were due to the island being a volcano. But nope, just quakes.

I personally thought it was going to be some other kind of giant creature. Could be more than an earthquake.

Soooo....the empire is definitely burning this place down isn't it? Possibly next episode even.

(I would say "Especially with Cid threatening to sell them out" - honestly kind of shocked me despite the earlier foreshadowing, since she always seemed to like Omega, even risking her life for Omega's sake in the Irling nest - but does Cid have any idea where they are?)
