Is it abandoned and in ruins or does Palpatine claim it for his own? It’s a secure faculty. Properly staffed everything inside would be protected. It literally took an army to bring the temple down.

Would Palpatine want the libraries and other information kept at the temple preserved for his own use going forward? Is moving it all to another location even possible?

We know from Return of the Jedi the Jedi Temple is still standing and the exterior is in good shape when we see it during the celebrations after the Empire is defeated and Palpatine escapes to Exegol.

Would Palpatine leave a delapidated Jedi temple standing? Why not remove it completely so there is even less memory of the Jedi?

I would imagine that it was abandoned or in ruins after the fall of the Empire. I would expect a ghostly mausoleum that no one really goes into, And there should be a reason why Luke doesn't attempt to re-start things there.

Anyway. I'd like to see it. On screen. Even if briefly.

Can someone help out with ancient Mandalore translations? Does Ragnar actually mean 'pet food' or 'bait'?

There's a common saying among martial artists and military. "Train like you fight, and fight like you train." This covert's training program is utter and complete chaos. No wonder they can't fight as a team.

That said, I really liked this one. We got a few more hints about their culture and the way their daily lives go, which I want a lot more of.

Bo is still MVP this season. Aside from her spiritual growth and seeking, she's getting even more motherly with Grogu. Now she's the one who's so adorable when she gets all nurturing.

    Padme Amidala.

There was enough time for Bail to see the temple attack and get in his speeder and go. There is enough time for Padme to send her security team and have a nice cry. The woman could multi task OK? I don't think Jar Jar got his own chromium ship. Or any ship.

Those foundlings are going to be something fierce

I could see Kellerin's contact being Jar Jar but I don't see Jar Jar being able to get that ship off the ground. As far as we know, only Padme had the Chromium ships because she used to be Queen. Or was that the old canon?

Padme also had those when she served as Senator. Jar Jar is now a Senator at the time of Order 66. It is *possible* that it is Jar Jar.

Also, there would be a disconnect if Bail described to Padme what was happening... and that a youngling needed to be saved... and then her reaction to Obi Wan telling her about what occurred.

I'm calling it now, when we get an overly dramatic scene of the armorer crafting a teeny tiny little helmet for Grogu and when somebody awkwardly puts that tiny little helmet on Grogu, that moment is going is going to be so freakin' stupid it's going to come around the other side and be hilariously awesome. The sight of that little guy walking around like Din's Mini-Me will be a defining moment for better or worse. Grogu in a Mando helmet is very possibly going to catapult this show into self-parody. While Grogu walks around in that tiny helmet it's going to be even more amusing to see parts of the fandom insist that there isn't anything funny looking about Grogu in a helmet and that actually he looks cool!

If Grogu ends up wearing the helmet full time I think the show will lose a big chunk of its mainstream audience and they might not come back. People will point to it as the jump the shark moment. Or...I'm completely wrong and everybody thinks he looks super adorable and loves it. The more I think about it I bet people are going to love the crap out of it. My god!

You know that's what they are building up to.

Interesting, Carl Weathers directed this one.

My only complaint is that they did not need to try and say no blasters because they might hit the kid. Just make it too tough for such blasters. Otherwise they can kill it in the sky and catch the kid.

I really want to see the first time Luke Skywalker visits the Jedi Temple. Seeing his reaction and finding out what the first info he is looking for.

Whether it’s an abandoned ruin or was converted into a private library for Palpatine and the Sith to use - I’d imagine The Jedi Temple will be very much like a ghostly mausoleum. Even staffed with guards it’s going to be deserted compared to when it was home for the Jedi.

I wonder what regular people on Coruscant call it or think about during the time of the Empire. I doubt the Jedi Temple is on the Imperial Capitol’s monuments and government building tour. Giving it the cover aa the Imperial Palace would make sense. Or making something boring for storage.

It very possible we’ll visit the Jedi Temple on the Mandalorian. Who knows.

I will say, the only thing that slightly disappointed me was that I thought she was making him an "Iron Heart".

A solid episode, but it didn't really wow me. It's almost Kenobi-like that way. There's just the odd stuff here and there that doesn't quite fit. Be it some of the visuals, the plot jumping around so much, or dialogue being not as sharp as it used to be. That gives me episodes that are somewhere around solid, fine or good. But if a show gives you so many episodes that were great, fine feels a bit lacking. Not that the first two seasons didn't have episodes like that, but they were usually surrounded by great ones to make up for it. So far none of the four episodes were great to me, that's not really a string I had seen before in this show. While season 1 was in a bit of a lull for episodes 4 and 5, 2 and 3 were awesome, and 6 and 7 delivered as well. In season 2 I found parts 2 and 6 a bit lacking, but they were surrounded by a great first and a very good third respectively a great 5th and 7th episode.

I would agree with the sentiment that the first two seasons had a much clearer structure and less flaws in the execution. This episode once again had quite a few "talk to the audience" moments, where the characters told each other stuff that they had already made clear before, seemingly to make sure the viewer got why they didn't take another approach. And I don't really know why. They never did that in the past.

Maybe the general plot isn't helping. Not necessarily because it is too jumpy, which I think it is, but because a storyline that focuses so heavily on the Mandalorians isn't all that interesting to me. I very much liked the pieces we got in the past, but more as interesting background noise and depth to the story of the main character, not so much as the core element of the story.

Still, it's not like the episodes are bad in my opinion. They are entertaining enough, with some great moments sprinkled in. Just not at the level the show has been in the past.

I don't think the question "would chapter 2 be as well received if it were released now?" makes all that much sense. The thing is, you cannot remove it from its surroundings. Doing something for the first time is different than showing it for the 5th time. Airplane 2 is a very funny movie, but compare it to Airplane and you realize that they rehashed a ton of stuff. That's what makes the first one a classic and the second one a funny but not all that creative follow-up.

Yeah. I think it was said four times that they needed not to use jetpacks or get too close to the dragon with their ship because it would hear them and kill the kid. There was too much of that sort of thing. Repetitive hand-holding.

That said, third time's a charm. Liked it a lot more. And the cinematography during the aerial dragon fight was much better than I remembered. They somehow gave it a very realistic edge, despite the insanity of what was happening (people with jetpacks with grappling hooks attacking a dragon). Credit to Weathers and Cundey on that one.

Yes but it wasn't automatic she got the Royal ships as Senator. She was a former Queen. But again, that may be old canon.
Jar Jar was a representative, not a Senator. Padme delegated powers to him in episode 2 in her absence at which time he gave Palpatine emergency powers.
She only knows it was on fire right? She doesn't need to know anything else to send a rescue party.

For a short episode, they packed a lot into it, and I liked the pacing. I still want to learn more about covert culture; that's all I wished we saw more of. Well, there's always next week...

Also, the baby raptors satisfied my desire to bring the blurrg's back. They have that same crazy head's-too-big-for-their-body look that we need more of in Star Wars mounts.

That particular ship which Padme used in Attack of the Clones was destroyed through the antics of C-3PO and Jar-Jar Binks on Rodia in the Clone Wars series. So this is a different ship than we saw before.

It makes sense that Jar-Jar as co-senator with Padme would have his own space craft available to him.

The ship Padme used she took from Naboo. It wasn’t being used directly for her senate duties on Coruscant in the movie. That opens the door to whomever she took a ship from also owns this ship.

I going on a both the ship but I doubt it will matter in the series.

How about Jedi Kelleran Beq. As the established Jedi host of a kids game show, I don’t think we need to worry about him double crossing Grogu. He’s immediately on the level. That’s another good reason to cast him.

Weathers directed the Navarro episode in Season 2 with the Imperial base. Snoke clones and speed bike / Tie Fighter Case.

That had a similar style to this episode being a straightforward adventure narrative of point A to B to C etc, This episode gets more complicated by having a two stories with the flash back.

From the way Grogu’s scenes are directed I get the feeling Weathers off screen shares the same affection for Baby Yoda as his onscreen character.

Ever see an old monster movie called Q? It was about a giant bird thing terrorizing a city, NY, I think. It's what I thought of when I watched this episode, but I don't really remember if there was much resemblance or not.

Also, the baby dragons reminded me of Dragonslayer, which has the best dragon ever filmed, with the possible exception of Smaug.
