Whether this is Home One or not, it's definitely an MC80 Star Cruiser's briefing room.

 

In the comics, Hera is given command of a Capitol Ship named the Geist and leads one of the few divisions of the Rebel Starfleet that survives the onslaught following the evacuation of Hoth. So it's probably the Geist and not Home One.

 

That Mon Mothma actress went from being cut from Episode 3 to appearing in everything. Lucky her.

 

That trailer looks the most souless thing Iv ever seen. Filoni is making his Rebels cartoon show live action and well that's it. Nostalgia bait and side quests galore.

Rebels is my favorite of the animation projects so definitely looking forward to seeing all those characters here

 

I like his armor. So of medieval and clone wars in style.

Huyang surging is a huge deal. He gave Yoda the parts for his first lightsaber.

This makes Luke’s task restarting the Jedi both less impossible seeming and also more tragic that it didn’t work.

A lot of story happened in the 32 years between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.

Great catch! Return of the Jedi is my favorite Star Wars movie. Seeing Jabba’s Palace again and now this is really exciting.

Also amazing the actor who plays young Mon Mothma. She was almost totally cut out of Revenge of the Sith. No more speaking lines. Here’s we are 18 years later she’s playing Mon Mothma across series series and movies.

 

Honest question why do people resent Filoni using his characters so much? Is he just supposed to end their stories just because or...? Like if you don't like TCW/Rebels and you're not invested in the characters then no one's making you watch this. I don't like the annoying kid-oriented episodes myself (why I vastly prefer TCW), but I think TCW/Rebels do a pretty good job at doing what the OT did best - coming up with fun characters that feel lifelike and that go through meaningful character development over the course of the plot. Idk why folks are so up in arms that Filoni doesn't just toss them aside lol

I also think the criticism that SW media relies too much on cameos is also super overblown. I don't really think Mando stakes its plot on what happened in the cartoons at all. The animated characters that do appear clearly have a reason to be there, it's just that the storytelling on mando (s3 ESPECIALLY) is so weak in and of itself that the cartoon characters are also written weakly.

 

So you think these are the capital ships and it's not an MC80?
If they are then they're boarded by Baylan and Shin.

 

It's called having my own opinion. I saw the trailer and was unimpressed. I shall probably watch the first episode and if I like it I'll carry on and if I don't I won't. Simple as that.

I enjoyed TCW but thought Rebels was terrible.
I find Filoni is good at blowing his own Trumpet "The Saviour of Starwars" and claiming credit for other people's stuff, including Lucas. While in reality he relies on Nostalgia bait and video game side quests in his shows and can't keep his own continuity much less anyone else's.

Definitely agree I don't like the video game sidequest stuff either and I tended to skip those episodes. But I don't really see how it's relying on "nostalgia" considering these are all original characters in a new original story who aren't even that old relatively speaking?

Don't really see continuity issues either but that's not something that usually tends to be super important if the story is good.

 

The Darksaber plot, which has basically become the driving force of the show, is 100% a direct continuation of the same plot from Filoni's animated shows.

 

What is a "Dark Jedi", versus a Sith?....I know, I know, GOOGLE it.....

 

Now this is what I've been waiting for! I loved every bit about the trailer. It was awesome seeing LA Ahsoka using the create a hole with sabers move. It'll take some time to get used to Hera's new actress and voice; but that'll come like it did with Rosario and Ahsoka. They showed a hint of Thrawn but I guess Ezra will be revealed at a later point.

 

Well no one has ever said Filoni has ever given up a character. Honestly surprised we didn’t see Rex in the trailer. Also I am still wondering how they will make this show not confusing as hell for people who haven’t watched TCW or Rebels.

 

If people weren't confused when they saw Darth Maul alive and well in Solo, then I think they can accept a handful of characters that were carried over from their animation roots to this LA show.

Well to each, their own. Even those who don't like Ahsoka will still watch the series to get their LA fill of Thrawn, who wasn't just another character that was carried over from animation.

 

Oh don’t get me wrong. That wasn’t what I was implying. I was more implying. They will have to give a lot of explanation as to how they all know each other.

 

And Big Scary Dude has a hallway scene.
