Ahsoka Official Ahsoka Series Discussion (Spoilers Allowed)

I'm more intrigued on how the likes of Hayden and Ewan will fit into the story. Of course the new teaser wouldn't reveal too much; so it still leaves it to the imagination - signs pointing to flashbacks with a younger Ahsoka (likely played by a child).

 

But that's not my point. I'm not denying they bring elements from the animated show in, but they never make it so that all your investment in what happens in Mando depends on knowing what took place in Rebels/TCW. They never bring up Sabine, all the different tribal drama stuff from Rebels TCW, etc. It's just a culturally important sword, which is a very common fantasy trope.

Now the darksaber stuff in Mando IS pretty bad and boring, but that's not because they're basing the drama off of what happened in those other shows. It's because the writing in Mando specifically is bad and they've failed to sketch out their main characters' motivations.

Ahsoka does seem like you'll need to know what happened in Rebels/TCW to know what's going on. But then again, I'm still not sure why this is so maddening for people because Ahsoka's story has mainly been in the animated shows, obviously this is a continuation/sequel to that. Why do folks who don't like these shows even care so much about an Ahsoka show? Genuinely wondering

 

Do we know who plays Thrawn?

Nothing. Which is why Dark Jedi aren’t actually a thing.

 

Actually all Jedi who become Sith as Dark Jedi. Vader in orig Encyclopedia was called a Dadl Jedi.

Now Dark Jedi are Dark Siders who have more subtle ambitions than building empires.

 

The Sith are just a religion as were the Jedi. It makes sense to see new dark siders and dark side organizations popping up in the wake of their defeat. Kylo Ren was never a Sith. Snoke was not a Sith. Knights of Ren - definitely not Siths.

The only thing that is absolute is that there is only the light side and the dark side. There is no Grey Area. No Grey Jedi. You can be in the middle and use both the light and the dark, but you cannot claim to be a Jedi or a Sith if you do so.

 

So these so-called "Dark Jedi" were around before Kylo Ren took over, I assume. He certainly doesn't use one of those orange sabers.

 

That’s the thing. Being able to use the dark side in small doses completely weakens the idea of the dark side. The dark side consumes you and corrupts you in every sense of the word. You can’t just dabble in it to become CEO of Dark Siders R Us. Thus Dark Jedi make no sense and why they don’t actually exist except in fanfic.

 

Dark Jedi don’t use the dark side in small doses, they just have other lusts and focuses.

 

Interesting in the trailer it spends a little extra time on the word ‘Jedi’, I think that’ll be a bit of a plot point to show how she is a Jedi again and it will be interesting to see who knights her.

I’d imagine some of the unrevealed characters are Ezra obviously, Jacen, Thrawn obviously even though we saw his back, Rex, Luke, Anakin, Vader, Obi-wan and Snoke.

 

I forgot about Jacen. How old would he be in this time frame?

 

Yeah so he wouldn't be much of a factor anyway.

 

Interesting perspective on the orange lightsaber.

 

Dark Jedi appear to have become canon since they are referred to in Master and Apprentice.

The exact definition on what is a Dark Jedi is very loose and there isn't any group calling themselves a Dark Jedi Order. Timothy Zahn created the term...

Who knows, it's all conjecture at this stage what Baylan Skoll is...

As a fanatic for Rebels, it's really exciting to have these live action versions! The other characters look cool as well, I just hope the show's plot will move along with real and serious consequences given the danger involved. Mary Elizabeth Winstead looked great as Hera. I don't know anything about Mr. Esfandi but he looks the part of Ezra. Not sure how close if at all they will push the Thrawn stuff toward what Timothy Zahn wrote three decades ago but it's nice to see them brought to real life.

 

There must be something wrong with my eyes because these darksider sabers look a bit on the orange side?

That's just me, right, or no?

 

We arn’t entirely sure the orange sabers are Dark, they maybe Jedi of sorts, who believe you have to turn on The New Republic, much like the Mando Knights who were Jedi who turned on The Republic due to its corruption, they used Orange Sabers too:
