In one sense, if its livestreamed it doesn't really matter where it is, if you can't make it you can watch at least some online. Japan is too far for me, and I don't speak the language, so I'll watch from home.

Wow! Japan! I'm at 90% will not attend - I'm from Canada, and this time in London is already a really big trip for me - and expensive! But I figured since I missed the other two in London, I should attend this time. I enjoyed it, but I had the feeling that it was very hectic and there was too many people everywhere! Ohio sounds interesting for 2027! Never been to Ohio!

If my son finds out the next Cele. is in Japan, he may want to go! he was stationed in Okinawa and went to Tokyo often. Japan is closer to us, but the prices could be prohibiting. we are probably moving down south(Arizona). it would be much closer to Anaheim if the 50th was planned there!

Japan is very unlikely for me, I've dreamt of going to Japan but when I finally go there I want to travel around the country and do other things and two years is probably not enough time to save up enough money for a trip like that.

Hopefully it will give me enough time to save up for the 50th annversary celebration, which I bet will be in Anaheim

I've added a prefix for Celebration Japan, but I will let this thread keep the CE23 prefix for a while so that we can still talk about it here.

I’m the same. I’d love to go but I’ve other things I want to do in Japan and not sure I could save that much in the next year.

Plus I’m almost expecting back to back 2026 and 2027 US Celebrations at this point since 22-27 seems like a big gap without a US event.

I have always wanted to go to Japan.
Man I wish they did Star Wars celebrations every year. I don’t even care about the announcements. I just like seeing all the fans

I personally think that it will be another two years between Japan and whatever comes next. 2027 will be the 50th anniversary, so I’m expecting it to be US based and very large, definitely back yo four days if not five. Most of the people I know who’ve attended other Celebrations are planning to skip Japan for reasons having to do with cost, particularly if you need to travel to and from with a lot of stuff.

That being said, if the next theatrical film is released in 2026, I could see a Celebration being scheduled then.

I don't see one happening in 2026. I think from a logistical standpoint, the planning and preparation involved for the 50th Anniversary Celebration might mean that having one in 2026 just isn't feasible. Plus I think a 2026 Celebration would lessen the hype for the 2027 Celebration quite a bit. Especially since 2027 will have been five years since the last US Celebration, which alone would make it a huge deal, nevermind the fact that it's the 50th Anniversary.

50th in 2027 is a lock. And it being in the US is like 99.9999999999% locked (and I would love them to bring back the 5th day/preview day)

My gut still says 2026 is possible, but I guess it may depend on film release schedule.

Once completed, you could redeem it for a Bounty Hunter poster in the redemption hall (N2).

Everyone who wants to go to 50th better start saving now. I would love to be able to get a VIP ticket then, but, then you may have a special SDCC Star Wars event , How many of you say the 50th would be held in Anaheim?

I wouldn’t mind if it was in Anaheim. I like how walkable it is, and I like that the convention center has an arena for the big panels.

My gut instinct is Anaheim for the 50th due to the arena and Disneyland.

I am also pretty sure that it will be in Anaheim. Orlando doesn't have an arena that's big enough for the Celebration Stage, unless there is something in the other part of the convention centre that they haven't used previously.

Will be greatly disappointed if it’s not in Anaheim in ‘27. Kind of disappointed it’s not here in the States for ‘25 but already planning the trip to Japan.

I have 2 weeks planned for sightseeing and Disney while there.

You are lucky! I hope the weather will be good there in the future, if it's in April, Aren't the cherry blossoms opening up ?I bet Japan is beautiful at that time of year. It would be appropriate also to have the 50th starting on the exact date it opened at the theaters 50th years ago.

Here in WA. state, the pollen is bad this year! moss instead of grass! lots of rain. but this summer, California should be a little greener than last year,(I hope)

Happy for the fans that can attend the next one in Japan, but I was really hoping 2025 would be the in US. Was really looking forward to them possibly celebrating the 20th anniversary of Revenge of the Sith and attending that(As they did with TPM and AOTC)

Reed (aka,Disney) is trying to give all parts of the world easier access to Cele.s., before Japan was announced, I had a feeling Japan was going to be considered but wished it could've been here. If they have one before the 50th, it probably will be Orlando to give east coast fans(who couldn't go to London) a chance at Cele. closer to home. Who knows!
