If it's completely bled, yes, but we're talking partial bleeding here. These people are presumably trying to be in the middle, like the Bendu, which would be why their lightsabers are only halfway red.

Following my logic, a blue crystal that's partially bled would turn purple(!) and a green one would turn... brown.

When was it revealed that these Jedi are trying to occupy some sort of middle ground? Did I miss something said at Celebration?

Isn't that kind of what they say about Mace's purple blade? Because he brushes the dark side it made the blue blade purple. Maybe not so much that they partially bled the blades...but because they brush the dark side they had yellow blades that just shifted.

 

That's a fan thing, I believe. According to SW canon, Mace's kyber crystal was amethyst-colored when he found it.
I suppose that could be retconned into being a reflection of him being innately darker than other Jedi, but I doubt that'll happen.

I don't seriously expect Baylan's and Shin's lightsabers to be formerly yellow, though.

Well Windu uses Vaapad, which is a Sith Lightsaber forum (Book of Sith, much of the things in Book of Sith have been canonized like Force Maelstrome).

 

@Lulu Mars Sadly, I think "partial bleeding" might not be entirely possible from what we've seen in canon. Bleeding was portrayed in a couple of comics (Darth Vader, Kylo Ren) and it seemed to take a lot from the Force user to achieve it. I get the feeling (and it's just a feeling) that it may not be possible to stop the process at the right time to finish it halfway through.

And I say sadly, because I quite like your theories. To try and propose new ways of seeing different aspects of the lore is absolutely part of the fun!

P.S.: About another interesting theory, I´m not too sure about Baylan being a former Inquisitor either. Somehow, him being a Jedi gone to the far reaches of the galaxy to hide from Vader and his Inquisitors seems a little more likely to me.

 

I think it fits nicely into being a former Jedi and his padawan on the run from Order 66 that fell to the dark side not out of lust for power but for revenge. That would give them sort of a wildcard rogue element and the possibility of redemption, which SWs loves.

 

I like the idea of them being stand-ins for Joruus and Mara, especially if Filoni’s movie really is gonna be a loose adaptation of HttE.

The more likely answer though is that they’re just simply the direct antagonists for Ahsoka and Ezra, respectively. Which is still fine.

 

Could be survival too. Use the dark side to hide your signature in the Force, but the more you draw on it, the less Jedi you be.

 

While Joruus was somewhat a dark counterpart of OT Kenobi, maybe Baylan will be a dark counterpart of PT Kenobi in terms of personality and goals.

 

I really hope we get electronic lightsabers of Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati.

Baylan seems like possibly rather interesting character, but for some reason Shin gives me strong cosplay/fan-film vibes and doesn't look or feel like a genuine SW-character in clips released do far. That is weird I have wondered the reason for that. Is it her costume, makeup or performance, but I for some reason have trouble to take her seriously...

Yeah I do that. My first impression was just a bit shocked. Like what happened, what went wrong. Sabine seems right, Ahsoka seems right, Baylan seems ok, Thrawn we didn't see close yet, but Shin, she doesn't look somehow right to me. I feel like my suspension of disbelief is lost when I see her and I just see young actress in star wars costume... I wouldn't like to hate her since young star wars actresses get so much hate anyway.

I guess I didn't- I didn't see Shin speaking at least. Just few shots of her piloting fighter and fighting.

 

This dude looks very cool.

 

Baylan is close to Balian. Hmmm… makes me wonder.
