Yeah it's a new app everywhere. It's stupid.

 

Here's something fun to do. Open up any streaming service and search for movies, not by what's trending and popular, not by what's recommend to you, but search alphabetically and behold the astounding mountain of garbage movies that you've never ever heard of before and will never watch. Doesn't matter which streaming service you're using, it's all the same. Yes, some movies will pop up that you've heard of and seen and have zero interest in rewatching at that moment but more than anything else you will be staring at an avalanche of crap films the likes of which you've never seen. It really does make all the streaming services feel completely interchangeable. You could probably get rid of 70 percent of that dreck and nothing of value would be lost and most people wouldn't even notice.

 

Sorry for the double post but is anybody else having issues with the new Max app? Ever since it switched over from HBO Max to Max I can't get shows to play. I'll press play on a movie or TV show and the trailer that plays at the beginning of the movie/TV show loops over and over again. Whether I click the skip button during the trailer or let the trailer play in its entirety the trailer starts over again and the episode/movie never starts.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the Max app. I've logged out and longed in and I'm still running into the same issue. I don't get it.

 

Max is hot garbage right now. It's very slow and clunky but it's playing everything eventually.

 

One example - I saw this on Max. New episodes? There are 4 seasons so (a) season 4 is missing and (b) that season is from 2018 while season 3 is from 2017.
So maybe new to Max but not new episodes as in 2023.

Edit: The series was cancelled after 4 seasons.

 

Either way it's good to know that that show is on Max! I never got a chance to finish it. Now if I could only get Max to work!

 

I don't mind the FAST services like Tubi. The only reason I finally downloaded it was they live streamed the last 6 episodes of The Nevers however in Canada there's no live streaming option, only on demand and it isn't there so I never saw it. BUT I did go ahead and make a free profile because I can find at least one thing a week to watch on there (my personal metric for any streaming service). Pretty sure these ad supporting free services like Tubi and PlutoTV and Roku (although you need a box for that) are there because illegal streaming services have been around for like a decade or more so someone realized to make a legal ad supporting streaming one. And the ads aren't bad at all when watching onDemand, they're really short and have a countdown clock. And where else can I find randomness on Tubi like Mac and Me, Masters of the Universe Dolph Lundren movie, or Robocop (I don't want to watch the other 2 again but yay Robocop), Road House or two Bill Bixby Incredible Hulk movies? There's even an Alien movie documentary that left Crave for years that I never watched but there it is on Tubi a week later. Also the only way I can start watching One Punch Man Season 2 is on Tubi (Netflix Canada only has Season 1 which I watched) but, hey, free, I ain't minding.

As for PlutoTV I haven't really used the On Demand programing but they have a 24/7 South Park channel streaming for free so that's good enough for me.

 

@TiniTinyTony Yeah having Dr. Pimple Popper next to the shows I want to watch is annoying especially since they put up a lot of content I don't want and took down stuff I did want. Our deal runs thru October and my guess we will keep it since we get our money's worth with it still...for now.

 

Tubi is cool @BigAl6ft6 . I watched E.T. the other day on there.

 

Pluto has a 24 hour Jeopardy! streaming channel, that's what I love about it

 

Oh man, I didn't Lo Pan was still alive.

 

He's still plugging away at voice roles and was in Everything Everywhere All at Once

 

The one and only time you can kiss your star on the fame is during the ceremony. I went out there with my wife and it's sad how dirty that area is.

 

The whole thing is a weird paid publicity service so that’s on them for not funneling more of their “installation fees” into maintenance and upkeep.

 

Big congrats to her! Been a fan since her first run on ER all the way back in 1994.

 

Cool. I didn't watch the awards though.

 

Premieres I’m looking forward to in June and July.
