Yeah that's true. Given that they don't have a character creation mode probably means that they want whatever story the game is going to have to play out similar for most everyone.

 

I liked the way stealth was portrayed in the gameplay demo.

Instead of an annoyingly forced stealth section, you can just sneak if you want, but if an enemy spots you, you can just pull the old Star Wars “well, crap”, and then start lighting everyone up while standing a fighting chance

 

My point is that they should both be legitimate options. If it’s always faster and easier to go in guns blazing, stealth is pointless as anything more than a self-imposed challenge.

 

I think you're each arguing different points:

Very few like auto-fail stealth sequences but that doesn't exclude stealth benefits from taking that route. I.e. a faction is not happy you stole from them, but neither did you leave a mountain of corpses and massive property damage.

 

Anyone know what planets will be in the game, I recognize Akiva with Aftermath and I think Kijimi with TROS.

More seriously, I saw what looked like Kiljimi, which is a perfect underworld dive for this game. But won't really know until the game is out.

 

Maybe there will be a backstory of Spice Runners.
Since the Pykes are definitely going to play a big role in this game, wonder if it will be finally revealed how and when the Empire
took Kessel from them.

 

To me it looks like we have Toshana, the planet the demo takes place on, Akiva from Aftermath, Tatooine, Kijimi from TROS and Canto Bight from TLJ. I'm excited to see ST planets in the OT time frame, I love when they back-port settings that popped up in the ST, it helps them feel more grounded and established in the universe.

 

I'm probably never going to be a TLJ fan but running around Canto Bight in Lego SW The Skywalker Saga? Very, very fun.

 

definitely looking forward to this, gameplay footage looks fun, cruising around with a speeder, flying from planet to planet

hopefully there's lots to do in the open world to make it really worth exploring around, can't wait to see what all planets are in the game

 

Star Wars + Open World= A great idea that's hopefully done well. I'm frustrated there's no gameplay footage yet, but that's been so common in game reveals for 10 or more years now.
While I am getting very tired of stormtroopers, star destroyers and the like in Star Wars, I do like that this takes place in the year or so between V and VI. I don't think any shows, movies, or video games in canon have covered that yet.
Since they're focusing on the underworld, I'm surprised this isn't taking place between Solo and Rebels. Seems like a prime time to show Crime Lord Maul, but new villains should be fine.
If this game succeeds (it probably will), I'd love to see an open-world SW in an era more disconnected from the Skywalker Saga with customization for species, gender, powers, etc.

I'm not sure we've ever gotten a reveal trailer, followed by a substantive gameplay trailer less than 24 hours later!

I like the koi fish faces from TBOBF, I just don’t like the boxy armour they used in Solo.

Most of the criticisms across the Internet seem to be incels raging over the fact the main character is a woman, which to me is strange since you could have a man do her lines and it would still be generic.
That for me is the issue, it looks so by the numbers, in other words so Ubisoft would people still be praising it if the Starwars label wasn't on it ?

A well designed game that nails the look and feel of SW will always be boosted by it.

Jedi: Survivor has a lot of flaws, with its successes of making you feel like a Jedi, nailing the feel of a lightsaber, with its visuals and audio to match, carrying it through despite those flaws.

As to being safe, with the amount of cash and resource going into this, that's pretty much a given. OT setting, using familar UbiSoft graphics and gameplay systems makes for a very easy sell. The videos for this have had major view counts too.
