Justin Simien says he found out about his supposed “exit” from the show thru the media in the last few days. Doesn’t match up with Sneider’s claim that he secretly left last year. Wonder what’s really going on behind the scenes.

It’s definitely postponed as everything is currently that wasn’t finished filming before late June. The strikes will delay this. But not by much. Like it may push this thing from 2026 to 2027. I still don’t expect to see this anytime soon.

If I was basically 3 years younger I would be the same age as your kids. Weirdly this makes me feel old. It’s usually the opposite.

I would assume its Justin Simien who is bending the truth slightly. He might not want to come out and say, "Well, I actually left last year".

Yep likely the Glover takeover was in the works for a while. Hell for all we know they may have started writing a script for it before the strike began.

the fact is the strike began months ago. So this deal had to have been struck at least before May.

Assuming it’s even real. I guess at this point though if it wasn’t real either LFL or Glover himself would’ve debunked it on social media by now.

It’s come from Variety and that’s as close to legit as you can get

Yeah but they picked it up from Jeff Sneider first. Hopefully they double-checked their own internal sources beforehand.

That’s what makes them a reliable publication. They follow actual journalistic standards of corroborating their info with at least three credible sources.

Plus I wouldn’t be shocked if on occasion one of their sources was just straight up lucasfilm. Like just the company at large being like hey here’s a “leak”

especially with the stuff that’s years out. It’s a good barometer for Lucasfilm to see if fans will like something. Not saying that’s the case here. As the leak came from several places at the same time.

also as you say they check with multiple sources which is why Variety reports on leaks way less.

I am sure they get perhaps a couple dozen extra “leaks” that they have one or two sources on and don’t report. Because they have a reputation to uphold.

again there is a reason I only really trust Variety and Deadline basically 100%. Because they are actual legit news sources that also happen to report on leaks. And so have much more a reputation to uphold even more so then MSW and Bespin Bulletin. Who will get things right most of the time, but will have less standards on reporting then the two actual news sites.

You couldn’t ask for a better appears on screen narrator than Billy Dee Williams really for anything. That he’s Lando makes it more perfect.

It’s already built into Solo. It works perfectly.

When the Solo movie came out there seemed to be a lot of people saying, "you can't replace Harrison Ford!!!" Funny enough apparently everybody was a-okay recasting Lando! Donald Glover was awesome. I actually liked him more than BDW.

This would be great. Perfect in fact. I actually just finished reading "Shadows of the Sith," and he is shown adding to his Calrissian chronicles in that story too.

If Lando was as important a character as Han I am sure more people would be saying it.

I have changed my mind several times. I am still against recasting mostly. Because I want them to move on to new characters. But I do think when you have someone who was basically born to play Lando you use that person.

Both Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover were perfectly cast. I hope we get more of Alden’s Han in this.

Would make sense. And I agree both were great casting calls. Still doesn’t change my mind on why I don’t like recasting in general. As much as I am excited about Lando. I am more excited for shows such as Skeleton Crew or Acolyte cause much of their characters are brand new.

still as I always say right now Lando could be the best thing ever or the worst. As could any project

Is Lando making the Calrissioan Chronicles in the trilogy so Lando Books that were released before Return of the Jedi? I think the story he’s telling in Solo is from one of the books.

He really should appear here, even if it’s brief. Which also means Chewbacca tagging along.
