Baylan endgame theory in the Spoiler.

When Jacen Solo fell to the dark side in 40 ABY and became the Sith Lord Darth Caedus in an attempt to change the future, he unintentionally awoke Abeloth. Abeloth | Wookieepedia | Fandom

My guess right now is that the mysterious thing is Abeloth or something like her.

That greasy senator is in bed with the Imperial Remnant. He's a pro-Imperial sympathizer. C3PO, Hera, Leia, and Mon Mothma are fabulous.

If he is he remains a senator until 34 ABY and is a very very very good spy. Unlike his son. Its possible. We know several senators work for the first order

Damn the First Order. Mothma was clever to let 3PO testify.

It is my belief that if Carrie were still with us or Disney wasn’t so afraid of recasting we would have gotten Leia in this scene instead of C-3PO. In another universe. A better one.

    I did love 3PO though

As somebody who loves lightsaber duels, this series has had far too many.

Are you saying there is a lack of quality over quantity? This is the most Samurai movie Star Wars has ever been.

And you could make an argument that Sabine has had 3 lightsaber duels with Shin, even if the one in the latest episode is very short

I think overall the lightsaber battles in this show have been REALLY good. In terms of propelling the story, reflecting emotions, the choreography, unique styles of fighting (Ahsoka being very samurai, and Baylan being very medieval/knight-like) I've found them all much more engaging than most of the lightsaber duels we've seen in live action Star Wars TV so far! BUT, I do agree there's been slightly too many and that diminishes the impact a bit. If they had cut out the Marrok duels I would've been totally fine with that given that Marrok ended up being a faceless henchman

    Yes I can.

This entire series passed it max on acceptable lightsaber play in around three episodes.

Abaloth surely would be too dark for Star Wars family tv right?

for what’s calling to Baylan, I’m expecting a scene like that last shot of The Lighthouse where

Robert Pattinson’s character looks into the light that was calling to him and it drives him mad.

only instead of killing Baylan it will make him run back to Thrawn scared and convince him to help resurrect the empire. And we won’t get anything more substantial until the filoni movie.

It was OK but i really was hoping for little baby Kylo Ren to appear, so someone could Force choke Xiono

PS: an important detail. The show finally settled the timeline. This is happening after Mando S3, so it's about 1011 ABY. Filoni verse may be about 15 ABY.

I'm still giving this season an A, but that last episode creates concerns for the finale. Still, we have a proven great director for E8, so I'm going to stay positive that S1 maintains the A grade I want to give it.

I know this is my hang up but every time this show show says, "we need to do X,Y and Z or the worst will happen" I'm left thinking, "the worst does happen. It's called the sequel trilogy and it ultimately sucked." At best, our heroes will stop Thrawn and spare the galaxy a few more years until the ST comes along and undoes everything the good guys have done. Yes, in the real world some peace is better than no peace but as far as a narrative goes in a work of fiction it feels anticlimactic. It was a bummer to see the ST undo everything the OT heroes fought for and it's a bummer to know that all the work of our heroes in the Ahsoka show will be undone as well by the ST.

I think this should work better if the stakes were smaller. It's hard to get invested in a story about stopping the bad guys from taking over the galaxy when we knew they eventually take over the galaxy. I just read a crime noir book set in Germany on the eve of World War II and the story works because it's NOT about the protagonist trying to stop Hitler from going to war. It's about small stakes stuff. We get a little of that in Ahsoka but it's not the focus.

Thrawn is dangerous, and I'm satisfied. It gives me more of a reason to ignore the ST, and I'm all for it.

But we'll see how good the final stuff is. Then I'll probably give this something between an 87 and a 96.
