Xiono never taught his son how to spy. That's why he's so bad at it. ;)

Reading these posts I’ve come to the conclusion I enjoy watching sword fights. Revenge of the Sith being so rich with them is part of its appeal.

If it was gun duels instead, with all the build up of suspense for each duel I might feel like it’s relative and want to move the show along. I can sympathize with it being too much.

It could have had 10 more, and I still wouldn't complain :p

But jokes outside, I think that every lightsaber duel in this show has been justified so far.
I have never felt "do we need to see them fighting again with a lightsaber?".
After all, it is the ultimate way to determine an outcome in the Star Wars galaxy.

Well, the few lightsaber duels between Anakin and Ahsoka in "Shadow Warrior" for sure.

Technically Ahsoka fought with Shin Hati in the latest episode for a short minute there, but she didn't even need to power up any of her lightsabers because she outclasses Shin Hati in any and every way possible.

Revenge of the Sith also borders on too many lightsaber duels, but they all feel unique and have impactful, consequential outcomes. They also fit into the film's momentum in which everything falls apart for so many characters.

I think I would have kept the duels in "Toil and Trouble," "Fallen Jedi," and "Shadow Warrior," which makes five total. This week's fights felt especially obligatory and I'd have preferred for them to be bumped to the finale, which will more likely have a major aftermath.

What's going to happen in the finale? I'm positive that Thrawn will escape to the GFFA and am pretty sure Ahsoka and Co. will be temporarily stuck on Peridea until a space whale shows up at the last minute to take our heroes back home though to me it's more exciting if Thrawn returns to the GFFA and the heroes are stuck on Peridea.

I don' think we'll see Baylan interacting with Thrawn and his minions in the finale. His role will be to prevent Ahsoka from stopping Thrawn and we'll get some more vague language about what he's hoping to achieve and then he'll die somehow but he'll succeed in buying Thrawn the time he needs to escape.

I don't think Thrawn's crates/mystery boxes will come into play in the finale. After Thrawn successfully escapes we'll maybe get a glimpse of what's in those crates, (a bunch of Darth Maul looking dudes? No idea).

Ezra will finally get Sabine to tell him all the details about how she found him and he'll be totally cool with it.

After Baylan dies we'll maybe see Shin Hati on the Eye of Sion feeling Baylan's death and we'll get some indication that she's going full dark sider.

Shortly after Thrawn escapes Peridea Hera's son Jacen is totally going to tell his mother that Thrawn's coming. That's probably how the episode will end. Close up on Jacen, "Thrawn's coming." Iris out.

Quoted for truth. Mando, The Bad Batch, Boba Fett and Andor were (mostly) saber-free, and Obi-Wan didn't start swinging his until halfway through his own series. Even the sequels were lacking in the duel department. Ahsoka is making up for lost time, and I'm here for all of it.

Having watched almost the whole season now, I’m starting to agree with the folks who say the pacing is too slow. It will probably work a lot better as a binge rather than week-to-week viewing, but I think they could have made it tighter or packed in a bit more drama between characters in place of the introspective scenes. Overall though, I’m still entirely satisfied with it and it’s definitely my favorite live action SW show to date. The lightsaber fights are great and the battle at end of episode 6 is a standout, with Ezra’s “force push” martial arts techniques being something we haven’t seen before. The space battles have been mostly good, only occasionally feeling pedestrian. The visual effects overall are great. Baylan is awesome, so is Shin.

I still personally rank The Mandalorian Season 2 higher, since I think it successfully packed in a season's worth of content and had similar spectacle, but this is a strong second pace for me that only got mildly frustrating this last episode because of how little time we have left with Stevenson as Baylan and how little we've learned about him thus far.

I'm still very unclear as to the exact years on the timeline the seasons of these Favroni series occur, aside from the first season of The Mandalorian, which was five years after ROTJ. Of course, we know that the order in which the series debuted is the chronological order of events, but over how many years has all this transpired?

I think the only other definitive mention was that Grogu was with Luke for two years.

It's so strange, because Lucasfilm has been very definitive as to exactly when all of the other films and series occur.

I wonder if in the finale we will get an acknowledgement that Ahsoka is full Jedi again because she clearly is in every way except stating it explicitly. Her offer to Shin kind of confirmed that as did her conversation with Baylan about not really mattering if she can beat him anymore. She is reeking Jedi completely now as the night sisters would say.

They don't want to say because Filoni is pushing for that five years after ROTJ/9ABY number so that he can have it line up with the Thrawn novel trilogy from Legends, presumably. I've noticed it was him who has contradicted Favreau in interviews about the timeline being moved up from that year.

When they were grilling Hera, somebody mentioned the recent incident with Moff Gideon on Mandalore.

I assume, and hope, we'll find out what Thrawn is taking back with him in Episode 8. And I do also hope just what Baylan is looking for willl be explored.

Yeap, we still have almost 25 years between the events of Ahsoka and TFA if I'm not mistaken.

The entirety of the events of Mando S1-S2-S3, Boba Fett and Ahsoka all last maybe 1-2 years, so we're at about 7 years after the Battle of Endor.

I think we are seeing the creation of the First Order with Baylan. I think his plan somehow involves the original version of Snoke who might be some kind of ancient Dark Side user or something to that effect. That’s why he told Shin she would take her place in the new Empire. The new Empire is a new beginning, a first order.
