    Ugh.

Just horrible. No clue as to what Baylan and Shin are doing. Someone should have died when they were riding their mounts towards the star destroyer. But of course, Filoni won't kill off any of his characters. Sabine was finally able to use the force while being choked out. Stormtrooper zombies. And they let an Imperial shuttle dock in a New Republic ship without identifying themselves, and then Ezra steps off in the stormtrooper outfit. Could we get anymore stupid?

All Filoni does is create scenes that he thinks will look cool on screen without any sort of thought put into plot and how it translates to the audience.

Really enjoyed entire series but yeah, was expecting answers from the finale and they left us with even more questions.
Interesting to see if we get S2 before the movie or if it all is resolved in the actual movie..

I think the story will be continued before the movie, even if it happens in Mando season 4 or Skeleton Crew or something else.

For the casual viewer, what Baylan is after is still unknown. They do not know the Mortis Gods, they just see a statue.
Good fight with Morgan, real shame they killed her.
Shin is now the leader of the bandits?

It was alright. It was OK. It wasn't bad.

Both and more I would imagine. The movie is a long way off and there are plenty of shows to fit in between.

...Honestly I wonder if it would have been better to market these less as separate shows and more as an anthology series that comes out in chunks...

I see this a lot, but isn't this galaxy just as likely to be nearer than further?

    Don't misgender people.

But he is correct that Sabine made a mistake. It would have been better for the galaxy if Sabine did not help the baddies get to Thrawns location. Now people are likely going to be killed by Thrawn n co in the GFFA. Sure Ezra is back, but is a poor swap since it lead to Ahsoka and Sabine being stuck in that distant galaxy.

Ahsoka's level of compassion, understanding, empathy, and general "at peace-ness" (me words good) was genuinely moving throughout, and then she went and engaged Morgan in a duel that raised the bar from where Nick Gillard left it in 2005.

She's more than a Master now. The first true Jedi we've seen in a long, long time. What a superb payoff for her character arc.

I don't get it? What do you mean? What would be the logical reason for him not to announce himself once he was in range? OK, so maybe coms are out. But stepping off the shuttle in the stormtrooper outfit? Childlike Filoni writing.

Agreed. We do need more of this story.

Stevenson was basically like an anti-Qui-Gon in a way. He comes off as reasonable, and one thing that's interesting about him is that he, ya know, doesn't want to kill anyone unless it's necessary in his mind. That's the way he rolls when he pops on screen in the beginning, and later, he doesn't much care about Ahsoka.

There's a theory that he's searching for the Ones. That's a good one. I prefer to think that he will get drawn into Palpatine's cloning scheme in some way. But ya know me. I'm not a fan of Episodes 8 or 9. I did like 7 just fine, but don't get me started on how bad Last Jedi and Rise of Skywalker were. I actually prefer the notion of shows making those movies better in bits and pieces. I mean, just imagine a tragic arc in which Ezra tries to take down the cloned Palpatine, and then Palpatine puppet-controls Snoke to fight Ezra. Or something like that. There are ways to make that story work.

This is just my take. But if Filoni makes a movie, I'd prefer Rey traveling and meeting Ahsoka, and they could work together. That way, Ahsoka could be like Satele Shan was during her post-Grand Master phase. That's my favorite tale related to Satele. Yeah, it's not a big story, but Satele needs more love. That's how I feel about Ahsoka. She and Rey comparing notes would be a good story.

This is just my take, but I'd like to think that Ahsoka wasn't dead when she encouraged Rey through the Force in Episode 9. Of course, the other Jedi like Anakin, Mace, Yoda, Obi-Wan, Luke, and Qui-Gon were. But what if Ahsoka was calling out to Rey from another galaxy? Oh! Sorry. The imagination nation is at work! Ha ha.

I mean, I don't think Ahsoka's the most powerful Jedi of all time, of course, but she deserves credit. This is just my take, but I think that Ahsoka would have been a better fit as an apprentice of Obi-Wan or Plo Soon. I mean, yeah, she learned the good things from Anakin, but Ahsoka was a bit more...prudent than Anakin. She didn't like violence; he did. She wanted to use aggressive negotiations, but she didn't want to tear down the whole city; Anakin did. I mean, Anakin would not be allowed to join the military in real life. Can you imagine the military giving Anakin an exam?

Anyhow, I thought the ending was touching. Anakin is proud of his little sister. I like how we finally see the Force working in another galaxy. Plus, the exile world isn't so bad. At least it's not another desert world. It was pretty convincing for a non-real location. It reminded me of shots of England, Scotland, or Norway. Cloudy but pretty place. But Anakin and Ahsoka are the most adorbs brother-sister duo of all time. Ahsoka may be a bit more like Obi-Wan in her style, but she's still a Grey Jedi who learned from this...interesting prodigy.

It was a joke (okay, let's call it an attempted joke). Because they let what they though were nefarious characters pretending to be Jedi on their ship in the first episode, and they turned out to be nefarious characters pretending to be Jedi who then killed everyone and broke out the prisoner. It's apparently just what they do.

I enjoyed this episode, I know some won't, and that is okay. Overall the series did everything that I needed it to. And now that the strike is over they can proceed to season 2 if they choose to. As Ahsoka said at the end they are where they are needed to be. That tells me that there is more for them to finish on Peridia and in that Galaxy.

All of those shows are very closely linked. Shared time frame in the universe and characters. All of them feature a Mandorian as a protagonist. In some form or another we’ll get more of all those.

Felt like some of the “big action set piece stuff” was sort of forced in and I had to eye roll a bit at Sabine’s force push of Ezra, but oh well. Narratively I’m very satisfied, extremely intrigued to see where this all ends up going into next season and beyond.

In many ways the primary goal of these first 8 episodes was just to establish these heroes in live action, establishing the Master and Apprentice Ahsoka and Sabine dynamic, and continuing to make clear the problems the New Republic face while establishing the Night Sisters and Thrawn as a formidable alliance of patience, intelligence and dark magic united. Particularly after Mando S3 already established that the people who later establish the First Order are waiting for Thrawn to return.

Mission accomplished on all of that and if that’s all that had been accomplished S1 could have still been a solid 7 out of 10 Star Wars live action show. However, why it’s higher than that for me is because of how they cleverly also established Peredia as a place with factions on it that that both Ezra and Thrawn had lived on, but rather than slow things down with flash backs to what had happened in the years they were there, we now have reason to see even more of this place and its factions and its secrets in real time with the 4 characters the season setup who are still there. Even if that was the only bonus this would be an 8.5 out of 10 show.

However, the reason Ashoka is my favorite live action Star Wars show to date is because it took some of Dave’s wildest fantasy contributions to the GFFA and made them real and this single accomplishment is not only fundamentally game-changing for Star Wars as an IP moving forward but IMO… essential for its storytelling growth.

Andor remains the most realistic, mature and character-driven, well-acted new entry to Star Wars but the best Star Wars for me has some of that going for it, and a lot more focus on the force, on escapist adventurous fun, with new fantasy elements, respect for Lucas’s previous works (including his latter works in the 00s) and even a bit of 1980s Big Trouble in Little China/Indiana Jones/Return of the Jedi camp within it.

Ahsoka is the best mixture of my favorite Star Wars ingredients from 1977 through 2022. Including those Rogue One and Andor brought to the IP.
