Also, in the last shot they show a bunch of Jedi lighting up their sabers, blue, green, and either a third color or multiple third colors. Looks like orange?

When I first heard that quote, “This isn’t about good or bad, it’s about power, and who’s allowed to use it.” I was surprised, but now I think it’s actually a pretty smart way in for a show about darksiders. The Sith crave power above all else, so what better candidate to become a Sith Lord than somebody who feels powerless, because such a person probably wouldn’t see themselves as evil for doing objectively bad things to gain more power.

 

I’ve seen people rant about that quote as of late. It’s strange they don’t understand the story is from a dark sider’s perspective. The narrative is flipped.

“The Jedi are the bad guys to the bad guys,” as Lesley Headland said.(I’m paraphrasing here).

Every villain is the hero of their own story. At the very least if a Sith even admits to themselves being evil, they’ll somehow try to justify it as a “necessary evil”.

 

I am very mutch excited for this show. A balance between grounded and fantasy. Filoni not involved so dont think be fantasy elements in. Other then what shown in PT.

I think it's been going around for awhile that Acolyte is going to be a pretty dark series. Whoever is making scoops about it now is probably just playing off of what is already going around.

 

I just hope that Jedi will not be portrayed too "Holy Inquisition"-style, hunting not only criminal users of the Dark side, but also neutrals that use it, but without (much) harm to others.

I mean, it’s hardly a surprise. One of the first things we ever knew about this show was that it’s a Sith story, so a darker tone would be expected. Right?

Edit: I just had a thought. So if the rumours are true…

that Amandla Stenberg is playing twin sisters, do you think that means we’ll get a sequence where she has to fight herself (a bit like Rey Vs Dark Rey in TROS, but for real). I know it would be filmed with a stunt double and trick camera angles and editing, but still that would be absolutely wild.

 

I'll be pulling for the Sith against the sexless frigid attachment Jedi.

Well the Jedi aren’t sexless if you ask Rael Aveross or Elzar Mann or Anakin or I could go on.

 

Well they did hire an intimacy coordinator for this show, maybe well finally meet Jedi who like to get frisky in live action.

and I mean they have gotten real close. All the less I think about Jedi Battke Scars the better.

They were a bit spooked by all the Reylo craziness imo.

 

I partially agree. But I think there's more to it than that. LFL-Disney seems afraid of romance because it will be interpreted as woke or conservative/misogynistic or whatever. They want to avoid controversy, and probably PT anxiety plays a role here as well.

But the original SW had Luke and Han horny for Leia in the first two films. And then years of Luke and Han and Leia and MJ romance and family in books. And for better or worse, the PT had Anakin and Padme. TCW added Kenobi and Satine, and even Ventress.

Then the Disney-era comes around and the only decent relationship is in a cartoon (Rebels).

Now everyone either lacks a libido, or if they have one, it's toxic. The new SW lacks humanity and heart.
