It would be really cool if we could get notifications for tags on Tapatalk, it seems to be the only type missing on the HD app.
Any chance we can get the API for Tapatalk updated? There are issues with the current version and the update is suppose to fix those.
Did anyone ever get around to updating the API? Upon accessing the forums for the first time on Tapatalk, I got a message that the API was expired and that the admin needs to update it to the latest version. Grimby?
So I have tapatalk free version of the app and my notifications haven't updated in the app since August 24th. I've deleted and reinstalled the app. I've logged out and logged back in of TFN. Anyone else having this problem? Anyone know of a solution?
I haven't had a notification from Tapatalk, nor has the watched threads list in Tapatalk updated, since May 26. While I mostly use the site in a mobile web browser now, Tapatalk is still the quickest way to share images from my phone as I can upload directly to Tapatalk and let them host it rather than fussing with Imgur or other sites in another browser tab and then trying to copy and paste the embed code.
I sent an email to Tapatalk on Wednesday via the support section of their app. I got an email from them on Thursday that they needed to dig into the issue and they asked me to let them know of any changes. After checking today, my notifications are now updating. It’s funny to see it go from Aug 24 to seeing them as of 12 hours ago with nothing in between (which is fine). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I created a sock account in 2004 with my hotmail email address under the username Matte (like Matte Painting). My main everyday use account of TiniTinyTony uses my gmail account. Lately, for some unknown reason, whenever I open up Tapatalk on my phone, it logs be out of TiniTinyTony and into the Matte account. Any suggestions? Can I deactivate, close, or maybe have that old sock account deleted? In the meantime, I think I'll delete the Tapatalk app, redownload, and resign in and see if that helps.
I used a sock on it once and it kept going there (Halloween sock) but I did have to do just that TTT, delete and restart. It worked, so I just don't change accounts anymore.
Random account swapping has been an issue for multiple Tapatalk users because that is part of the quality experience Tapatalk offers. We had several people needing help navigating this situation recently. Eventually, they all reached the right conclusion: that nothing good comes from using the app.
The latest update also have put giant unskippable ads every time you click on a forum. Literally unusable.
It seems Tapatalk recently had a change in ownership. Although it wasn't sold off to an even more horrible company, which is often the case in these situations. The original founder says he bought out the venture investors and is now the sole owner. So maybe the obnoxious unskippable ads are Tapatalk's way of celebrating the ousting of corporate overlords (or perhaps a way to make back all that money).
All I know is that I bought the Tapatalk app in Google Play in 2011 when it required a one-time payment up front, and when it went to an ad-supported/subscription model, legacy users who bought the app outright were given lifetime VIP membership which included an ad-free experience. They've never reneged on that, and so I've never seen a single ad on Tapatalk.
So it looks like Tapatalk starting logging me in using my Facebook credentials. Facebook also uses my hotmail account. So I deleted Tapatalk, reinstalled, and then logged in using my Google/Gmail credentials. When I checked Tapatalk this morning, I was signed into this account so maybe I'm good for now.
