Pellaeon, Rukh (In new animation style!!), Thrawn....we’re one C’Baoth away from an Heir to the Empire reunion.

I absolutely loved Thrawn’s talk with Morgan. The subtle nuances of his character and view on the Imperial war machine, Lars eerie voice, the ocilating organ theme...it’s, it’s beautiful. Haunting.

I don’t even know what to say about this one except that it felt so gd authentic from beginning to end. The republic/empire blend is such an interesting aesthetic to me. Those shots over Coruscant, holy cow

Seems like he lost a lot of weight before Rebels season 4. His fight with Morgan was just awesome.

I didn't understand why Thrawn was testing Morgan's martial arts skills when it's her ship designs he's interested in.

Still a cool episode - lots of fun to see The Mandalorian come to life in Animation.

I like we saw like Bad Batch finale two Republic cruisers with one Imperial star destroyer. Great to see Catpain Palleon. I loved Thrawn's dialogue.

Between the added muscle and that bladed weapon he was wielding, his redesign worked well. I’m glad he’s not been forgotten in the storytelling.

Star Wars has officially outdone itself in the villain naming department with Moff Isdain

    10/10

Edit: Also, those morons writing reviews “whoever is familiar with Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn books will understand what Morgan is offering the Empire!” and it’s the plans for the kriffing TIE Defender

Who does Morgan want revenge on? The droids who destroyed her family? Grievous is dead. The Separatists lost. It can be argued that the Republic/Empire is also responsible for slaughtering her people, since it was Palpatine who was control of everything, so how does helping the Empire build star fighters to put down a rebellion help her goal?

    This episode was pure perfection.
The dialogue between Thrawn and Elsbeth was so good.

I think her overall struggle is with the galaxy.

Her people are killed during the age of the Republic.

The Singing Mountain Clan exiles her.

She is rejected by the Empire (until Thrawn steps in)

Her community on Corvus wants to see her dead or deposed.

So she wants to avenge the Nightsisters by bringing them back in full force and taking over the galaxy. They are technically immigrants?

None of the TOTE episodes came close to the Dooku ones which is disappointing. It looked gorgeous though. This one I give a 8/10

It went over my head that she wants to take over the galaxy, but I suppose sticking it to anyone and everyone could make sense and TIE Defenders would at least stick it to the Rebellion.

Bringing the Nightsisters back from Peridia works as a goal, but that's only later on, and would include building the Eye Of Sion, not TIE Defenders. And that would only be at the point in the timeline after Thrawn had been exiled to Peridia. I assume she heard the call from her kin only after Thrawn is exiled, but I might be wrong. At the time of the second episode, when Thrawn asks her why she wants to help the Empire, I'm not sure what revenge she hopes to accomplish: her scheme with the TIE Defenders seemed to actually be to make the planet/system she controls wealthy. I guess with that wealth she could build the Eye, but I'm not sure the sequence of events lines up.

I think it all lines up and makes sense. She’s just making herself useful to the dominant power in the galaxy and using her infinite resources to bring back her tribe with the eye of Sion.

Another great episode! The animation continues to be the standout.

This feels borrowed and inverted from one of the Visions series 1 shorts. Much of the time the focus is on people fed up with the Empire and wanting nothing to do with them. Here we have people who bought into getting jobs and wealth with them. That's a nice broadening of perspective.

Thrawn steals the show. Mysterious and chaotic seemingly looking past Morgan into the future. Morgan is angry. She is capable of manipulating people into doing something stupid. She'll also design whatever she wants for raw power and not care how much it costs. Morgan also doesn't seem to see the roof of what she can do. That's good for going to another galaxy sometime in the future. He finds an angry pawn and puts it into the deck he is trying to stack.

This was a solid episode that felt more expository than illuminating, but still had a handful of strong moments. I don't know that I buy the idea that Elsbeth was the first to conceive the TIE Defender, and it felt like too easy a link to pull her into Thrawn's orbit. That said, all her interactions with Paelleon and Thrawn added some substance to her loyalty. And while her fight with Rukh felt slightly obligatory, I thought it was probably the best action scene of the entire season.

Captain Pellaeon was a really nice surprise. Was he played by the same actor who portrayed him in season 3 of The Mandalorian?

Less interesting than the first episode, IMO. It felt like an interquel that works so hard to fit into the pre-existing story framework that there was nothing left for its own story.
