Thanks. @Lady_Belligerent I was going to ask you. Have you seen Every Little Step? It's a documentary about the making of a Chorus Line on Broadway in the 70's and the revival. It was really good. I assume you know who Michael Bennett is.

I will say one thing for the forum though, in the unlikely event I ever become a writer or filmmaker, I sure as heck know what NOT to do (not really sure what TO do, cuz nobody bothers to offer any ways it could have been better) but still I've taken a few pointers

- don't have characters be morons (got it)

- if the character doesn't line up to that viewers personal worldview/belief/ideology that character is dumb and has no right existing (got it)

- if a character does something,say, stay on the planet and has to stay in this location for plot purposes, this is profoundly stupid, no movie/story ever has anyone do something to move the plot forward, everything must be hyper-realism even in a fantasy setting (got it)

 

A Chorus Line is such a classic musical. I had no idea how competitive Broadway is. The auditioning process is brutal.

 

Wow. My friend Bobby was an actor. He went out to LA for a few years but didn't make it so he came back to NY. He was in the 1997 movie Sabrina, you can see him dancing right next to Greg Kinnear in the party scene. They shot that on Long Island. He did a Law and Order and had one line.
