I enjoyed seeing the Fortress Inquisitorious still under construction in the weeks following Order 66. I'm fascinated by all the preparations that had already been made prior to Palpatine giving the Order. The Death Star was well underway. The Inquisitorious already existed. Tarkin was high in the ranks of power. Amedda was a Sith sympathizer. All the pieces were in place, so many steps had been taken. Even if the Jedi had defeated Palpatine, they would have been in serious trouble. I still wonder if there was ever a failsafe for Order 66, in the event of Palpatine's premature death.

I do wonder when the Fortress was first built, and what the history there is. Was the underwater portion a hidden Sith stronghold or bunker? The clones know to take Iskat there after Order 66, so it must have been built prior to the end of the war. What we see when Barriss arrives is no doubt an expansion of the original facility, to make it into a proper Fortress. Fourth Sister visits the prison as Operation: Knightfall is taking place. So she, like many of the other Inquisitors, was already on the Chancellor's side. Grand Inquisitor is said to have killed all the other Temple Guards even as the 501st marched on the Temple. He must have taken the other Inquisitorial candidates with him and absconded from the Temple secretly, after sabotaging the defenses.

The Jedi Order really had no idea how many vipers they had in their own nest.
    • Dooku was actively collaborating with the Sith Master while an active member of the Jedi Order
    • Barriss bombed the Temple from within, with the aid of Temple workers
    • The Grand Inquisitor was a traitor long before Order 66
    • Pong Krell foresaw the Jedi's defeat and turned traitor while still in their ranks
    • Many non-Jedi workers were spies for Darth Sidious, including the unfortunate Heezo and the lamented Voh
    • Quinlan Vos returned to the Jedi while still serving the Sith and committed sabotage while undercover
How many more of the Inquisitors were already turned, just waiting to commit murder or sabotage at their new Master's behest? How many of the Temple staff were on Palpatine's payroll? The shroud of the dark side that clouded the Jedi's vision came from a Sith shrine, buried deep beneath the Temple itself. The Jedi Order wasn't just blind by the time of the Clone Wars, they were also deaf to the growing rumbles around them and within their own Order. They ignored the warning signs of the coming apocalypse until it was too late.

Between Rise of the Red Blade and Living Force, this trend is becoming interesting in the new EU. And it's not like these folks are intentionally trying to be evil/screw the Jedi over. They're just... sort of in positions that lend themselves to promoting Palpatine's agenda.

I wish I could micromanage as successfully as Palps. How does he find the time to keep tabs and make social calls on everybody everywhere?

At least in the EU, IIRC, he did not sleep at all thanks to the Dark side.

In canon, per Complete Locations, Palpatine has an "Alderaanian relaxa-bed" in his private suite in his Coruscant office that allows him to "experience the equivalent of a full night's rest in a few hours." Presumably this allows him a bit of extra time each day to keep up with all his various Hands, assassins, minions, and so forth. Also, I want one, though I have far fewer Hands, minions, etc. in my contact list. Really I just want the restful sleep.

That’s the irony of the world- if you’re ever fully rested in a regular basis, you inevitably end up spending that extra time hiring Hands, assassins, and minions.

You’d think you read more books or go for a walk and enjoy the weather, but, nope. Hands, assassins, and minions. Everytime.

    Halfway through the third episode.

    - In the first episode, what made the Dathomiris think they could pick up these weapons they had no training with and fight effectively?
    - In the second, Elsbeth tells Thrawn she wants revenge. Against who? Grievous, Dooku, and all the Separatist leaders are dead. It doesn't seem like she knows Palpatine orchestrated the war, and if she did, why would she join the Empire?
    - In the third episode, why does the New Republic envoy pick a fight against Elsbeth with a tiny undermanned force, and with that horrible disadvantageous position? Alternatively, if you just want to demand her surrender without risking lives, send a droid.

He's making better use of that tech than most of us. We'd just use the extra time to doom scroll the Holonet.

Assuming they aren't ready yet to circle back around for a Season 2 of either TOTJ or TOTE, and assuming it would be relevant to other 2024/2025 projects, the most logical option would be either TOTRebellion (to connect to Andor Season 2) or TORNew Republic (to to tie into Skeleton Crew and/or Mandoverse as a hold-me-over bridge until Mandalorian & Grogu, Mando Seaosn 4 or Ahsoka Season 2).

If they're not tied to new projects, I could see Tales of the High Republic (for Acolyte bridging until the next season), Tales of the Sith (which could also tie into High Republic/Acolyte), or Tales of the Underworld (Boba Fett, Jabba, smugglers, etc).

Tales of the Resistance/New Jedi Order will probably wait until we're closer to the Rey movie, I'd imagine.

[Rogue Squadron], obviously. Have you seen the box office for Top Gun Maverick? The people have spoken and they demand it.

I want another Tales of the Jedi. I think The Acolyte could give the opportunity to showcase Jedi from the High Republic, like Vern in this format.

They've got Filoni doing promotion alongside Hedland, why not bridge into someone else's characters getting some shine in the Tales format? So far, it's been characters Dave is passionate about. If the Tales series is supposed to be a proving ground for other creators, let them open up eras outside the Skywalker Saga period.

Bump up the episode count, just call it “Star Wars Tales” and have multiple three episode arcs of shorts focusing on different things. Tales of the Sith: three shorts about Maul across his life, followed by Tales of the Bounty Hunters: three about Cad Bane, Tales of the Rebellion: three about Luthien etc etc...

-I imagine Morgan promised to train them with the weapons - they weren't expecting to fight right then. Still stupid, but the kind of stupid one would expect of scared people.
-The Confederacy itself is still gone, but there are still sepratists out there, and the Empire tends to lump all rebel groups in with the sepratists. So revenge on any "terrorist" that challenges galactic "order." Or possibly revenge on everyone for daring to have communities and be happy when she is denied. Or both.
-I imagine like many envoys who threaten she thought the threat of potential retaliation by the full might of the government behind her would protect her more than the soldiers on the ground with her. The imperial governor on Dessix makes a similar mistake in Bad Batch.

    Good question.

Tales of the Bounty Hunters sounds like the most natural choice to me, though all the shorts have been focused on Force Users and that would be two villainous ones in a row....

I like Tales of the Bounty Hunters!
I'd actually like to see Tales of the Clone Wars. Ideally this would be in addition to rather than instead of other miniseries (since the era has received more than it's fair share of coverage), but it would allow them to finally finish out some of the last storylines that were already somewhere in the pipeline but are still unfinished (like the Utapau arc) without displacing the existing "final season."

We have plenty of Mandalorian content though... but at the same time some stitching wouldn't hurt.

Bounty Hunters, and one of the stories can be about Din and another about someone else (Aurra Sing?)

I honestly want for them to bring back Clone Wars again to not just do the unfinished arcs but focus on characters the show never really did. I think the Clone Wars could have gone on for at least 20 seasons due to the shear anthology nature of it. Sure Seige of Mandolare is the finale for Rex and Ashoka's storylines in the show but you could focus on other characters. Phase out the core characters of the show for some of the more minor characters in it or characters who never even showed up in the show.

What about a Cut Lawenque orgin arc? Coleman Kcaj actually doing something. Show Anakin flying alongside Garven Dreis (I'm honestly surpised the show never even attempted that). The potentals are endless.

The one thing that Tales of has that Clone Wars can't do is the fact that its unbidded by any specific timeline.

Agree. Seems like a perfect opportunity to show Bo-Katan in different time periods - soon after the Siege, Imperial coup to replace her with Saxon; events shortly before/after the Purge; her working with Ahsoka during the NR era. Also an opportunity to show a

I didn't realize it was a wiki image. Fixed now. You actually need to swap out the "static" for "vignette2" to make it work with the boards. Removing the junk at the end won't fix it.
