the CGI in AOTC is so bad that its really distracting. thankfully revenge of the sith looks 20x times better. and phantom menace dident looked as bad. AOTC seems to be the black ship in this trilogy IMO. the arena scene looked so fake and so bad i couldent even follow what was happening
Lucas was fine with the CGI in AOTC. That's why he only concentrated on the things that bothered him.
like adding NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO to the pivotal scene in ROTJ when Vader turns back to Anakin, must have bothered him for YEARS that...
Well Vaders NOOOO was Lucas's way of rhyming with Anakins NOOOO as he chops Windu's hand off to save Palpatine. Which is basically the scene where he makes his decision on what side he chooses. So Lucas obviously wanted to connect the scenes. So I imagine Lucas had too much time to look at his own movies and see things he wished he could do different now. Its possible with the CGI that Lucas just didn't have a strong issue with how it looked, Because CGI really can be whatever Lucas wanted it to be with no problem.
i know that for that time and with the constraints it was impossible. however today its very possible to upgrade the cgi of the prequal trilogy. especielly attack of the clones which look so fake.
The CGI and visuals in general for AOTC and ROTS are bad. The only film in the PT that looks great is TPM.
Again, he was fine with it. If he wasn't then he would have changed it between 2003-2012. He changed other things but not that.
I never had a problem with the cg in AotC. It certainly doesn’t read as any more fake to me than puppets and miniatures, both of which were used extensively in the prequels. By adding cg to the OT that was contemporaneous with the PT, Lucas succeeded long-term in bringing the visuals of both trilogies closer together. Changing one film would do more harm than good.
