I would have called him Novak Oldovic, but there's a 40 year old American in the doubles final.

Worth remembering that Murray would still annihilate most tennis players in the world today.

watched most of the alcaraz match last night, would not be surprised if it comes out today or tomorrow that he's hurt. apparently had a minor ankle tweak in training last week.

first set is the worst i've ever seen him play, and while he had a few surges of brilliance in the second set, he was never in control. credit to van de zandschulp for playing solid, unpredictable tennis.

Maybe Djokovic really does play best under pressure. Ever since reaching 24 slams and being recognized as Goat, he hasn't won a slam, but in the Olympics -- which he cared about more than anything else -- he was at his best again. I guess he needs to start picking fights with fans again and get them against him if he wants to win any more slams!

the first of the billionaire daughters to make it to a grand slam semifinal. Jessica Pegula's chances to make it this year are I think not as good.

On the men's side, it's hilarious that only after Djokovic and Alcaraz got beat did the number one seed seem like the favorite to win the tournament.

who besides everyone else still in the draw wouldn't love to see Tiafoe win a major? That would be fantastic. So I'm in New York on Sunday and was looking into tickets for the final. After Tiafoe beat Popyrin the ticket resale price for the finals jumped significantly. I think my window of affordability is now officially closed even for the nosebleediest of available seats.

Tiafoe played great. An American man in a US Open final for the first time since 1894 or thereabouts!

tiafoe really needs a second wind, momentum all with fritz. this has been a great, evenly matched battle.

I wish it were Tiafoe, but I'm still happy for an American man to be in the final.
