ESB to RotJ: 1 year
RotJ to Mando S1: 5 years
Mando S1 to this movie: 2 years (I think?)

 

Lets say 7-8 years. Depending how long The Mandalorian moved.

 

And all that time trying to avoid being eaten by Wampas

Temuera Morrison confirms he’ll not be returning as Boba Fett in ‘MANDALORIAN & GROGU:’

“This show's reception does seem to have impacted the future of the character in the franchise.”

I think even if he was, he wouldn't be able to say.

 

I think many fans would take his quote and translate it to basically how they felt about the series or character themselves.

 

eh, including Boba Fett would probably mean going back to Tatooine, which probably simply doesn't fit with whatever story they want to tell

it's probably better to have some new characters for the supporting roles

 

Temuera Morrison is a plain-spoken man with a great sense of humour. He makes a lot of comments that are easy to take out of context and turn into clickbait drama; this has happened several times before. That being said, even if they do turn out to be jokes, I sincerely hope these quotes are a mistake.

Because if you look at whatever kind of numbers you prefer, commercial or critical, the reception to The Book of Boba Fett was not that bad. Not at all.

And even some of the most scathing reviews still praised his performance.

 

Meh, I suppose I wouldn't mind seeing Tattooine in there. It has after all been a LONG time since that planet has featured in a SW film (not counting the 1 minute ending in TROS). In terms of whether it would fit...I suppose it could fit just as much as any other planet they might introduce. It all depends on what direction they go.

 

I wasn't a big fan of where Boba Fett's character went in TBoBF, but I was hoping it was a set up for the future e.g. a story where a crime lord with a connection to Din Djarin is needed. That might make the show better retroactively. It's worse if they just drop the character, so I hope that doesn't happen. People still love Boba Fett. They just want better Boba Fett.

 

Apparently some people who were there at the convention have called out what temuera said as misquoted. That Screen rant attributed their on quote to Temuera which they have since fixed. claim he said nothing about the reception of the show and was actually very coy about the movie.

Someone who was at the convention claimed Temuera said he couldn’t say anything about it but that he was going to be in series 4, but didn’t know what was happening with it.

TBOBF was a classic case of taking a character and shoehorning him into a situation completely alien to the character's mythos. Boba's popularity is as a gun for hire with a unique moral code, not a crime boss turned into Marshall Will Kane. Everything that happened in the flashback was great, everything that happened in the present wasn't!
