You're absolutely correct, but I felt like she was more unlikable than the writers intended. However, my guesses to the writers' intentions could be off.

Ultimately she didn’t crack under pressure at Aldhani. It’s perfectly normal to have moments of doubt and fear in battle, despite the nonsense Hollywood peddles. But yes, she was a bit possessive with Cinta. I think her background as a pretty privileged person without much hardship in her previous life played a role in this characterization. I found it very realistic and effective. It doesn’t “not work” simply because she’s not perfect. I think she was a leader a little in over her hea, sure. But ultimately, she pulled off the biggest and most difficult rebel action to date. She held the team together, in the end, to finish the job. She just didn’t do it perfectly.
I didn’t dislike her. I also quite liked Cassian, Brasso, Marva, Mothma and Luthen. They have hard edges, but I don’t think they were in any way “really unlikeable.” Luthen did a terrible thing sacrificing that Rebel unit, though, and that’s hard to swallow. But I found a lot to like in the main characters. Apart from the Imperials, of course. They’re very realistic terrible people. Reminded of a few terrible people I knew in Washington, DC and Moscow.

Haven't posted on these boards in a long time. Just wanted to say how bummed I am that there's no sign (so far, at least) of a behind-the-scenes documentary for season 1 like there have been for all the other live action shows so far.

Quick shoutout to Tony Gilroy for sticking up for Kathleen Kennedy against the toxic fandom.

Welcome back. Stick around and post. Maybe your renewed effort at posting about this stuff is what it takes to finally get them to recognize the demand.

Season 1 of Andor will always be classic. That's without a doubt. One thing I appreciate that, in spite of how its themes clearly go well with the early 2020s, there's also a timeless quality to the season. The music and the visuals are as good as the acting itself, as well. Outstanding production from all professionals involved.

Agree, I really did like this show. At times it was too slow, but overall the show was the best SW show made. The Characters were good, there were tons of original plot lines and to see that it was not just another Jedi or something related to order 66 was nice. I look forward to season 2.

I can understand why you say it's too slow. I, as well, felt we should get moving to certain scenes. But that's a taste thing. I believe they were going for the old-time, slow quality we see in The Empire Strikes Back, which I'm told was even slower before it was edited. But I get it, and I see what you mean. I think we could have used an Order 66 depiction or something to give us a view of why the Rebels feared the Empire so much.

I never once thought it was moving too slowly. I think a lot of TV shows could learn from Andor in terms of how not to rush characters to their plot-required destinations, and how to build up to emotional moments properly.

Yeah they do set-up and pay-off technique quite nicely in Andor.

I thought it was too slow at times watching it weekly, on binge though, it’s brilliant. Waiting a week between most eps exacerbated the slowness. In hindsight, it worked brilliantly but was a struggle at time of release.

The build up to attack the imperial outpost was too long tbh

Nah. The build up was done masterfully, adding tension and gravitas, establishing stakes to the story, and fleshing out the characters involved in the heist making them believable and sympathetic which caused a feeling of real loss when a bunch of them were killed during the action. What a great story arc.

Agreed. Unfortunately it seems that studios generally agree that audiences don’t have patience for proper build up anymore, and so we have the 6-8 episode phenomena.

This show has grown on me a lot, I must say. Once you let go of the “Star Wars is for kids” mindset, this show becomes very enjoyable.

Have you watched the blu ray release of the show? There are some very good, if far too short, behind the scenes featurettes.

I never understood the desire of some fans to limit the Star Wars boundaries. It’s just a cool as hell world. They can, and should do, all kinds of stuff within it, from fun, kid adventure stories to complex political/ military dramas.

I did a rewatch of Andor this week. It's 10 times better rewatching. Vel was jealous of Cassian (Clem). I didn't catch that the first time around. I thought she was just annoyed with him for being distracted lol. Syril is still a mystery however. April can't come fast enough.

I'm gonna do a re-watch when we get a little closer to April. Been avoiding the Andor S2 thread and I'm not gonna watch any trailers because I wanna go in fresh.

I'm thinking Blevin will be accused of being the Empire's mole, leaving the real mole Jung, to operate.
