I think around April makes sense. And I highly recommend the game!

Like seriously I've been enjoying the hell out of the game..and I'm still only at the first real location.. there's a lot to do and explore and puzzles to solve. I adore it.

Guilty pleasure: Enjoying the look on a fascist's face after you've glassed them, then you punch them out.

Damn Doktor Jones! Just before 9am, I boot up the XBX, figure it's time to get back to it.... 5.5 hours and 8 achievements and missed breakfast, brunch and lunch later, I only stop playing in Gizeh because I forced myself to as there's other stuff I want to do today.

Got various perks activated, which all help, especially the stamina upgrade.Think I cleared the majority of the Vatican quests, but don't think I got them all.

Stuff I don't like is the puzzles, don't find they're communicated that clearly. Kind of irritating that the one that did make sense to me was wrecked by illegible cursive.

1st person platforming generally does not work well for me. And this game continues that, I can do it but I don't like it. Find it difficult to judge where I am relative to the environment.

First boss fight really showed the limits of the 1st person view for fighting, not a fan. Nor of the path to the airship due to limited latitude and Terminator nazis.

But even with those down patches, I still wanted to keep playing, finished the Vatican section, got to Gizeh and am really liking the story and world design.

I made it through a whole tomb in the Vatican and it was so satisfying figuring out puzzles and such without needing to look anything up. Felt really natural and the dialogue and everything feels so Indy.

    I love this game..

I really like the game and yet I don't (as yet) feel drawn to play it in marathon sessions.

I've not actually played it since Friday as I've found other things I'd rather do. I'm still in the Vatican.

The first person view doesn't mesh well with me (same issue I have with Cyberpunk which I STILL have to finish) and would absolutely have preferred a third person setting which it flicks to every now and again which I appreciate. I suspect thats the bit thats preventing me from being fully drawn in, I like to see my character when I'm playing a game.

Key chores for tomorrow already boxed off though and I'm only working 3 days this week then I'm off for the holidays so I suspect it'll get a solid run over the next few days.

I'm only a little ahead of you, has a certain villain made his debut for you yet?

@FatBurt - it was the sidequests that sucked me in, the way they unlock then develop and conclude made the game hard to put down.

Saw him from afar but that's all so far. I am surprised by the depth of how much there is to do and explore in the Vatican location honestly

Do indicate when you've had the intro. I'm at the start of Gizeh.

There is a huge amount of stuff in the Vatican. Strongly recommend nabbing five medicine bottles to get the stamina upgrade.

I did get the stamina and health first level upgrades and think I'm close to getting another too. Also bought maps of secrets so at some point when I have access to everywhere I'll go looking for those more intentionally.

Nice. Though, there is the option to revisit levels - gave that a try earlier too to nab an adventure book, it's pretty good.

Oh, I'm bodding around with the sidequests. I've saved the little archaeologists assistant lad from the Nazi prison shed thing and I've taken the 4 photos and been into the catacombs (which was fun)

I do like the sneaking up and mullering a Nazi though, always satisfying.

In one location there's a load of toilet brushes... won't do a lot of damage but whacking someone in the face with one? The humilation would be mortal.

Can't wait to hit Nazis with toilet brushes. Already loving hitting Blackshirts with frying pans

I spent a lot of time tonight doing more story side missions stuff at the Vatican. I've also cleared most of the mysteries and such. Probably gonna actually move on to the next section soon.

I still don’t get why they didn’t just offer two options, first or third person, as many games have done.

Sigh. Gizeh, after the Vatican, is a pain in the arse to play. And this culminates in a stupidly designed, idiotically thought out, peak videogame bullcrap sequence.

You're trapped with unkillable scorpions. No problem, right? Hold the torch with one hand, throw the jar with the other - no, you have to alternate. Well, OK, oh, the stamina meter applies here... and he throws it a pathetic distance, and the scorpions ...

I drew the logical conclusion - screw this crap.

It's a shame, I had come to enjoy the Vatican, but Gizeh? Feels like the A-team and the Z-team took over.

Oh and every Nazi has a steel skull that can withstand a sledgehammer to the head. Getting a lighter to set fire to things, including Nazi posters, was cool. But the scorpion bullcrap combined with the other idiocies wrecked it.

Turns out, if you describe your problem well enough to people online, they give you a load of tips for the problem section.

And heads-up flags for the next open area too!

Objection! They're not review posts Bor. A review currently, and likely to stay as this, is: Play it on GamePass

More seriously, there are games I abandon and don't go back to. Tends to be only the ones I care about, where other factors exert a pull that out weigh the frustrations, that get stuck with.

Although, I haven't yet tried putting the tips to use, that'll be later.

Indiana Jones versus scorpion round two.... in a weird turn of events, the scorpions did not show up. Either it's a bug, which I will happily take, as I can skip the "true" experience. Or, it's smart coding that picks up a player quitting it midway and takes them out when the game is restarted. Either way, it's a removed roadblock.

For the Nazi compound that followed, I got to test the new Street Scrapper II perk - it works. As numerous knocked out Nazis would attest, if they weren't, you know, knocked out.

The one thing that is weird to me in this game is the carry body ability, as you can do it but there's both rarely any really good stash points, and the bodies never behave as they should. Try to throw a Nazi over a cliff? Every time it'll be a crumpled body on the edge.

It was pretty satisfying finding the quieter route through that I did. The escape sequence wasn't great, nor the cave exit. Better was the trip to the Sphinx then the tomb, which became very, very up and down.

First puzzle was not great but then there was the three lock gate. Turns out the major difficulty I had was due to it not loading the symbols right! Only rumbled it by looking for video guides and, in every single one the symbols were different.

Solved it by flicking the puzzle setting from.light to moderate. That triggered a correct load, which made the puzzle make more sense.

The cave that followed was one of the best sections, as it was riffing on the Giants Causeway architecture. After that it did a spectacularly bad boss fight, with an enemy with too much health. Had thought I was going to run out of weapons before it went down.

It then follows this up with two more crappy sequences to create an awful trio. The tomb escape with the sand and then... the scorpion blow section. Total arse. How the hell that got signed off I have no idea.

Having just survived that fiasco, I've been moved to the Himalayas, but will be heading back to Gizeh. As, if nothing else, got a pile of adventure points, a decent amount of cash and some medicine bottles from the Idol of Ra quest.

Not visited all of the Vatican but I've progressed to Giza now. Just arrived.

I shall declare pizza for tea in this thread and go eat that with a couple of beers before I continue.

I am determined not to leave the Vatican until I have discovered every secret. Yeah, I’m a perfectionist.
