That's why Bats ran away when Oz and Sophia were running amok, he was ashamed!

Nah this is on Reeves. He hasn't been able to nail the script, whether it's progressing Batman from where they left him in part 1 or if it's in regards to making the suicidal adult orphan into Bruce Wayne. My guess is adapting Bruce Wayne has been tricky for him as he avoided it completely in the first one. But Gunn isn't preventing him from getting his script done.

Saw the first 2 episodes of Penguin over the holidays.

    It is really good.

But there is next to nothing to tie the story to the greater Batman or DC universe. It is a mob drama.

I keep waiting for easter eggs like Penguin carrying an umbrella or ANYTHING besides a club-footed waddle to connect this character with his long legacy.

Still hoping it will get there in the end.

I appreciate realism. I do. But you can make nods to the character's prior details, even the silly ones, when approached the right way, and still keep it real.

The last 20 seconds of the final episode is the biggest connection to The Batman

Bill Skarsgård Thinks He Can Be Your New Batman or Joker

Not sure if this really belongs here, but I really am not sure if I want the DCU to continue with the MCU sort-of floundering and the the DCEU having already floundered by this point.

The next Batman is going to be AI.

He will also be the last Batman.

This was literally one of the comic book’s recent plot points.

There must always be a Batman...

    ...even if it's a ****** AI knock-off!

A hero can be anyone. Even a man doing something as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy's shoulders to let him know that the world hadn't ended. Or it could be a man at a computer using AI to write the next script.

Colin Farrell won the Golden Globe for his work in The Penguin. Extremely deserved but where's Miloti's award :(

Reeves says Batman 2 will still shoot this year, despite the delay to 2027.

Reeves was also asked about possibly folding Pattinson into the dcu and he said “we’ll see what happens.”

I have no doubt now that they’re waiting to see how Superman does before deciding what to do.

I suppose the cameo in creature commandos is vague enough that it could be any Batman anyways.

They seemed to say beforehand that DCU Batman already has Damien Wayne as Robin

I get the feeling the two Batman directors aren't talking about it much. Anyway if they make DCU Batman more distinct (slap him with a Robin, lot more colourfull villains, maybe does the Batusi) it'll stand out
