Played my second session of DnD this evening with my cousins and sisters. It was a fun time, after we spent 90 minutes getting out characters sheets rewritten on Roll20 rather the paper forms we wrote at Christmas. Some exciting events, like my cousin descending down a well to discover it was indeed only filled with water and nothing else, and me poking my nose in an alcove causing a monster (a grick) to spawn and half the party getting wiped out in one hit each and requiring a lengthy rest to recover. We levelled up at the end though, so next time we'll be a bit more resilient

What is up with these medieval jokes directed towards @darkspine10? Is this some RYL joke, I'm not up to speed on?

Darsk has nicknames for his cousins- the Baron, the Wizard etc. Dandy once joked that Darsk lived in an 11th century neighborhood in England . Who knows, maybe Darsk really is a time-traveller, and knows the truth behind the Green children of Woolpit

Almost through my first week at my new job, so very different from teaching.

 

Is that a good or bad thing?

 

It's very different, considering all the paperwork I had to fill out to get a security clearance. That's just for starters. I am working on an army base here in VA as opposed to a non-profit preschool. I am not around children all day, I do not have to do lesson planning or cover bathroom breaks. I make sure people use their badges to enter the building, escort cleaners when they mop the floors, and lock the doors before I go home at the end of the day. It's a surprisingly low-key, relatively relaxed job.

 

What are you doing as your new job?

 

I am a security receptionist. I make sure you go where you need to go so long as you have the correct badge, and keep people out of places they need not be. I also lock all the doors when the day is done.
