    @DarthIshyZ

Honestly it's one of my preferred "what if's". You get a ton of options based on when exactly the timeline splits. It also depends on how you mean Order 66 "failed". I think what would be most interesting is if somehow Anakin died when he intervened in the Sidious/Windu duel. Maybe he tripped and fell out of the window after Mace, I dunno.

Without the Chosen One available as an apprentice, what does Sidious do? In my mind, his only option is to crank up the brutality of the Clone Wars.

The general public and the Jedi Order were already feeling the strain of war a few years in. If the CIS are actually allowed to strategize, I could easily see the war dragging out another couple, heck, maybe the CIS could pull out a couple big wins without Sidious purposefully hampering their efforts.

After a few years, I'd think the general public would grow more disillusioned with the Jedi Order. How can a group of space wizards who act so superior to everyone else be such poor generals? I'd expect a growing rift would form inside the Jedi Order as well, between those who want to sue for peace and those that crave a victory. Sidious could exploit that sentiment, and eventually, have the Order rip itself apart under increased pressure from the CIS.

Sidious could then probably gain enough public support to do something as drastic as expelling the Jedi from the Republic as a whole. Paint them as the warmongers. It was of course a Jedi who secretly ordered the Clone Army after all. I dunno.

I just want the droids to win for once :')

Actually, you just gave me a thought. What jedi could Sidious turn to the darkside, quickly in order to complete his plan.

I'd say Qui-Gon but his dead at this part of the timeline (sad, the only interesting jedi imo). Mace is dead (thank the force, cause he was awful).

Could Obi-Wan to be turned? Maybe Aayla Secura? (There's not that many jedi worth turning)[/user]

I think the list is pretty short. Palpatine had worked on Anakin for years by that time. We didn't see him invest as much time in any other Jedi.

It's interesting that, even though Palps was such a good manipulator, his plan depended on two such precarious dominoes to fall in order.

well from the movie's POV it seemed Sidious did the command individually, even giving the names of the commander's individual names "Commander Cody..."
so after the first couple of clones just shooting themselves in the head, you'd think he'd have the foresight to think something was amiss :p

I don't have the movie in front of me right now, but I believe Taun We said the clones were programmed to accept all commands without question. So, if they were ordered to dance a jig, they danced a jig. (Apparently that's order 67.)

I've always much preferred the implanted chip answer for Order 66. There's no way in my mind that Palps would trust such an important decision as finally wiping out the Jedi to something as malleable as "free will".

A chip also solves the reasonable issue of explaining why the clones, a majority of which having developed close relationships with the Jedi,l would be so quick to turn on them at the drop of a hat. A through line of the Clone Wars show is that the Clones wanted to be seen as unique individuals, as more than just meat droids. What's more heartbreaking then to have all of that personality forcibly ripped away by a puppet master they didn't know existed? To be forced against their will to tear down the Republic they had fought and died to protect?

It also cuts out the awkward hoops the EU had to jump through to explain that while yes, all of the clones knew about Order 66, and some were preparing for it outright, but then they also loved working with their Jedi Commanders. It was just needlessly messy.

True, but that's why the EU became so messy regarding the prequels. Any time a writer wanted to make any clone character more than a simple meat droid, they then had to time themselves into knots explaining why a being with free will would willingly go along with 66.

It got even worse when some writers decided that Order 66 was just common knowledge. That it wasn't a big deal, because Order 67 or whatever did the same thing to the Chancellor. (That's a cop out in my eyes).

I view the chip as a necessary retcon to untangle the mess that came out of clones being written with any more depth than a puddle, if that makes sense.

    Tia profile updated

    Background:

A lot of Tia's background is still a mystery, and is to come out in the next RPG Lords Of The Empire.
What is known thus far, is that she was seen walking through the dark under-levels on Coruscant, streets where the light of the sun hardly reached.
Dazed, and her feet bloody, she had probably been walking the streets for days. Evidence to support this was her gaunt frame and hunger, not to mention signs of jaundice.
Had Dalask not been walking along, after a shady business deal and spotting the girl, a day or two later she'd just have been a forgotten soul of the trillions on that metropolis planet.

    Dalask:

Dalask was a late middle aged Muun/Pau'un known for his odd looking appearance, so much so that many tended to avoid him, and many tales were told about him by the imaginative kids of his local village. Not that we should feel sorry too much for him, for while not exactly wicked, he was a schemer, and the Muun in him made profit and greed his priority. So, did he feel sorry for the poor girl he saw on the point of death? probably a little. But on sensing the girls potential, outweighed any sympathy. You see, Tia had sensed the Pau'muun looking at her, even from a distance. After an awkward conversation with the infant, Dalak decided then and there to adopt her, despite any unethical questions this posed, apart from the obvious. But he was a shameless man, and introduced her as his daughter to everyone he met. But Tia was too young to understand, and had no memory of her real parents, and she was just happy to be cared for even just a little, and fed.

    Tia's life under Dalask:

Tia grew to become a clever and observant child. She grasped subjects quickly and developed interests early.
But it was Tia's force talents that interested Dalask, and wanted to see how powerful she was, for the time being he did not want to expose Tia to any medical tests for a midichlorian count on the basis he didn't want anyone to find out she wasn't really his child, and secondly the chance she was of somebody of importance. So he put her through rigorous test, from Telekinesis, to other physical training to find what she excelled at. He found two. One is that she was a natural acrobat, and the force only further enhanced this. The second is that she was a powerful telepath. She could often read what he was thinking, and this unnerved him so. And taking her in public was a big cause for concern and embarrassment, often she would walk past herds of strangers blurting out peoples private thoughts that were untrained in shielding them from force empaths such as herself.

Tia enjoyed learning about technical things too, she liked to know how electronics worked, and she kept a close eye on Dalask when he would manipulate locked doors to open, a mix of technical skill and a bit of force persuasion. The other topic she was fascinated with was poisons and toxins and collected as many facts on them as she could, by the time she was seven, she could name more than a dozen which were untraceable.

Dalask had made sure she was cared for, and she was properly fed well, and comfortable, and very occasionally, if she had done exceptionally well in her studies or force training would read her a bed time story, or tales of old. Her favourite being Order 66, and asked to hear it several times.

Despite being what many would call an extraordinary child, Tia was a lonely one. She had no friends, and nobody to really turn to about her worries, or even her joys. She constantly worried what would happen to her if Dalak died, or if she was good enough to survive on her own. Dalask knew this and would use this knowledge to his advantage, often telling her she's a nobody without him. Truth is, he would be rid of her instantly for the right price. Dalask being a man of business travelled constantly and so, Tia was never on one planet for more than a week before moving on to the next, and though in a way this exposed her to many cultures, and attaining street smarts after being left on her own for long periods of time, she remained xenophobic, and apathetic to those around her, especially those she considered non-superior, the less human looking the more she showed her disdain, unless she was with Dalask and the 'elite of the galaxy' there she could put on a false front, convincingly.

    Life under the Graul's:

Through the next few years Tia's xenophobia lessened somewhat, and life with her father and stepmother more stable.
When she reached her late-teenage years Tia had formed an identity for herself, and what the Sith meant to her as an individual.

Tia began to dislike formality, and detested rules of any sort. Tia was well versed in politics, studying to become an Ambassodor for Nubia, influenced by her father and step-mother, and held degrees in law and philosophy, and took a doctoral degree in interplanetary relations. Her own Sith philosophy was unorthodox. She did not care for Sith tradition, openly mocked Darth Bane and his decrees to other Sith and would openly cite other Sith lords faults in attempt to cause debate amongst her fellow Sith. In the temple Tia would often show sympathy to the peons and do the chores for them like sweeping, to the annoyance of her superiors. Despite all this, she did respect the Sith empire and even respected, dare say even liked all her fellow Sith in the temple.
She also developed a special interest in lightsaber training, and developed her own style to rival that of Ataru, the Jedi's own acrobatic style. She did not believe that Sith should follow traditional forms invented by the Jedi order, and her own belief was that all Sith should create a unique system of their own. Hers she named Tia'rii
and was a fast style. It complimented acrobatics, fast strikes and stabs, and the main goal of her system was deception, she would convince her opponent she was sloppy one second to draw them in before unleashing her fury in impressive acrobatic style movements. The other goal was to always use the environment to your advantage, wherever you were. Tia took lightsaber and unarmed combat serious, and loved the thrill of battle, she was never one to want to end a duel quickly and enjoyed toying with her opponents.

Tia, being a Graul, was popular and she attended many parties and clubs frequently, often embarrassing her parents in her choice of outfits. Tia's force philosophy mirrored that of her Sith one, she was a care free spirit, a Bohemian, a hedonist. Life was about achieving the most pleasure possible, and you could only achieve absolute pleasure through experience. And only through living life to the fullest can you become powerful in the force, 'life creates the force, it makes it grow, experience makes it stronger' was her own doctrine, and as such the force was a tool for her own whims and enjoyment, and others took it [the force] far too seriously. Tia was a party girl, and the leader of her social circle of friends, and all but very few of her uttermost inner circle knew of her Sith connections, and even them, not sure to what extent.

    Tia a future Sith Lord:

Despite this Tia did take her Sith studies seriously at first, and often consulted ancient holocrons for guidance. She was interested in stopping the ageing process indefinitely, and spent a great deal of time trying to discover this secret. Tia had no desire to ever take on an apprentice of her own, but was interested in preserving the empire, and by doing so preserving the legacy of the Graul's

After awhile Tia became disillusioned with the concept of 'Sith' believing instead that tradition stunts growth. Due to her hedonistic worldview, Tia began to see the lessons of Bane and following Sith lords as wise teachers, but whose principles or lessons should not necessarily be replicated or seen as doctrine. She also began to believe that the title 'Darth' was both foolish and prideful since all other Sith lords before them have in one way or another failed. And that titles did not grant anyone any more power literally from the force. As such Tia never took a 'Darth' title of her own.

    - Tia believes 'Sith means 'being an individual first, and Philosopher second'
    - Tia believed the future of the Sith means looking to the future, not clambering to the past steeped in tradition and platitudes that has yet to lead Sith to ultimate victory
    - Tia is more concerned with experiencing 'life's pleasures' than she is about galactic affairs
    - Although Tia wants the empire to survive, as she believes this was the best form of government for the galaxy, She has no desire of ruling, herself.

"People ask me who I am, what do I believe, what does the force mean to me. I simply tell them I am Tia, and that's all I ever want to be"
