I skipped this celebration having attended the last one, but I might go to the next depending where it is.
It's an excuse to go somewhere new.

I doubt there will be much to announce though, there will be a trailer for The Mandalorian & Grogu no doubt and whatever new animated show is happening but that's about it I would expect.
What else is in production that they can showcase?

Maybe instead of asking if they CAN showcase Ashoka S2, they should ask if they SHOULD showcase Ashoka S2.

 

why don't they do more documentaries? there's still tons of stuff in the Lucasfilm archive to mine, people are still alive to be interviewed etc.

Take inspiration from the EU and do a full length documentary broken up into 10 minute segments about the life story of every single extra in Jabba Palace.

Possibly, but how much has actually been filmed that they can show?

 

Unknown. Maybe enough for a small teaser with a release date would be nice.

Obviously, the two huge things they'll be hyping up will be the release of Andor on D+ which happens 2 days after Celebration ends and of course the Mando/Grogu movie.

Animation wise - We will definitely get a trailer and a release date for Visions Volume 3. Also during the 20th anniversary animation panel, it says "sneak peek at what's to come" so maybe a new animated show in 2026.

Skeleton Crew s2 would be a very big surprise if announced.

Unless they publish again a 2.5 bn $ world wide movie they can do whatever they want. No one except of some few people would care. We will see it on the numbers of Andor 2. The brand is dead and Mando + Grogu fanservice will not change this. They have no long term vision, their productions lack quality and the GA lost interest. The only people still watching this crap are YouTubers, so they can destroy it. I think some of them might even have more viewers than the actual LF show. In addition Disney is continuing ruining the reputation of itself with garbage like Snow White and mediocre (at best) Marvel productions with the result that an actual very good show as DD Born Again lands with 7,5 m / 5d viewership. Sounds much? Agatha crap had 9 m+.
Disney and LF needs a radical leadership, creative direction and marketing change.

 

I remember mostly enjoying "Tales of the Jedi" and "Tales of the Empire". This looks good.

 

I like Cad Bane, but given we know he lives until The Book of Boba Fett do we need another story with him?
No real stakes if we know he won't die.

This 'Tales' series is an opportunity to do stories about other characters.
Ventress is fine since her story wasn't resolved in TCW, but we could have had a story involving Q'ira after the events of Solo or even The Black Sun & Prince Xizor in the new canon.

 

Do we need another story with Cad Bane?

Well, it depends on what you mean by need...
Do we need it in the same sense as we need water, and we can't do without it?

No.

But do we need a Cad Bane story in the sense that it would be interesting and entertaining and fun to watch?

Also No.

 

Cad sounds like the name of a 2026 legacy admission to Yale with broccoli hair.

 

Speaking of ‘dos there’s something very cursed about TCW style Assajj with her hair grown out.

 

That music. Couldn't be more bombastic. They threw everything at it. It almost reeks of desperation.

And all the sound effects are timed to the music. It's like an orchestra of bass farts, lightsabers and blasters. Very peculiar.

 

I really don't like it. I think they did it a while back because one of Lucas's daughters loves Ventress and had that hair style for a while, but only some folks can pull it off. Ventress... ain't one. She looked cooler when she was bald.

 

I must've missed the memo when bounty hunters became the avatar for "underworld" adventures.

Is Bounty Hunting an often seedy profession? Yes. Does it compel those in the profession to deal/dwell amongst the rogues and criminal elements of the galaxy? frequently.

But...bounty hunting is commonly legal across the galaxy, and often the most practical avenue for pursuing justice or pursuing those who hope to escape justice. This makes them, at best, an outsider, lurking in that underworld.

I would think a smuggler or an assassin or a slicer or a gang boss would make more compelling leads for stories about the underworld.

People in the underworld see a bounty hunter...they run. Expect lots of chase scenes.

 

Bounty Hunters often work for bad people, but that's usually because they can pay the most.

I wonder, will any of these stories be adapted from the scripts that were written for the Underworld series Lucas was planning before the buyout? There are a lot of them, surely they aren't just sitting around not getting used.

And you're throwing out the same old tired shtick they regularly use.
The brand is fine, sure it's not the biggest and most revered anymore and it could do with a shot in the arm but it's nowhere near dead.

 

Ventress is pretty clearly going to be doing force stuff what with the inquisitor and the Jedi kid.

Cad looks young and we see battle droids in his scenes so I’m assuming it’s prequel era.

Ventress story might be interesting even if order 66 has been done to death at this point, just hope she keeps her edge.

Not sure I really need tragic Cad Bane backstory given his primary narrative role as an Eastwood villain Gunman with no morals at all type.

 

If they give Ventress a proper canon on-screen death then great. If hope they won't keep her around so she can suddenly appear in a live action show set 20+ years later
