Resident hack Jeff Sneider says Superman is amazing again.

    https://comicbookmovie.com/superman...fer-holland-joined-the-cast-a216879#gs.l1qbm9

His sources for the DCU are hot garbage. That being said this isn't necessarily a scoop "source". It's just someone he knows who has seen the film. Sneider hates Gunn so if he's reporting this it's because he knows some other trade or scooper is going to catch this, report it, and then his recent "scoops" and sources on Supes look terrible all over again.... he just came out a week ago saying his "best" source heard the film is bad. He's trying to save face here.

I expect this film to do really well, personally. That first trailer had the most views of any trailer in the history of WB and topped eyes for the Endgame and IW trailers. The normies are going to be obsessed with Krypto.

    Regarding the DC Statefarm commercial

Makeup artist Eliza Mollie Till and props builder Dan Crawley shared behind-the-scenes photos and secrets for State Farm’s DC ad. It was Mollie Till who revealed that Nicholas Hayner, aka Nick Filoiali’i, played Batman.

I knew the guy was too built to be Will Arnett and it hasn't been revealed who the voice was. Maybe Arnett did ADR or Nick is doing his best Will impression especially with the podcast crack.

It's obvious that he's a nerd. His insistence in having the trunks on the suit is proof of this.

Looking at him in that clip he actually would have made an interesting Anakin in some other parallel universe.

I started that video thinking, "Oh, sure, I guess we have to give this guy nerd points just because he likes Star Wars as if that's a hot take." And then he legit recommended the EU Legends X-Wing books. He even knew there were ten. I'm genuinely impressed.

95% chance he was cast in the movie before it was cancelled

    EDIT: David Corranswet

I watched the two part Watchmen adaptations awhile ago, it was fine. Even closer to the source than the Zack Synder movie (the Squid stays in the picture!). There have been a lot of various adaptations of DC comic series into animated films, some better than others. The last really great one was Superman: Red Son. That one is awesome. But the rest are pretty okay. However, I think the animated adaptations peaked early with 2012(!) Dark Knight Returns. I freakin' love it. It is also the benefit of being Dark Knight Returns, obviously, but the voice cast is stellar and the animation and direction and music is great. I could and do watch it all the time, it's on TV right now and I caught the end of it and then it's on again in 15 minutes. aha. it's so good.

Word is the trailer for "Superman" will be attached to "Minecraft". Also, Nathan Fillion will appear as Guy Gardner in "Lanterns".

Not a trailer. It's an early scene featuring Supes and Krypto from the trailer but the entirety of said scene. The description has already leaked online. Sounds great from everyone I've read break it down.

sneak peek just released by james gunn:

    krypto is a menace

if the giant fire-breathing monster in the trailer didn't tell us already, gunn is leaning heavy into fantasy for the new dc universe, and i love it.

I laughed out loud. Very loud.

Its definitely a new take on things, as far as the movies go. It's almost ....odd ... seeing the robots and sci-fi fantasy stuff played up to 11. It feels fresh.

I like it. Finally a movie I want to see in the theater.

something that we didn't see, but was apparently revealed in the cinemacon footage is that

the fortress keepers (robots) don't like krypto, and refer to him as "unruly."

    lmao

is the Fortress and hurt Superman the opening? I can kinda see it as the prologue. Ala Indiana Jones or something.

This is probably going to be a very predictable reaction, but I absolutely loved every second of that. It very much has the tone of a James Gunn movie, which is good because I didn't want that to be lost, but it also very much feels like a Silver Age Superman adaptation, which is exactly what I want to see.

People who mock the superhero genre as not being real cinema, show them that.
I defy you to hear that theme and not be uplifted.

Gunn knows how to make you feel things, and DC sure as hell needs a big feel good movie to bring them back.

I did notice that they said Superman about 12 times. As opposed to the former universe that seemed darn right afraid (or too serious) to mention it even once.

Yeah i appreciated the robots referring to him as Superman instead of Kal-El.

I liked that clip for the most part, but I have some questions:

Who’s building those robots? One of the robots is referred to as “new,” so they certainly didn’t come from Krypton.

If the robots don’t have feelings, why did the new one get excited when Superman looked at them?

What was that weird language being spoken on the intercom as Superman entered the fortress? Does krypton have its own language in this universe?

Overall, this is a solid start. Nice to see a Superman movie that’s not embarrassed to be a Superman movie. If Gunn pulls this off, dare I say it, this could replace the Donner films as the “definitive” version of Superman. The new actor seems great too.

the robots are directly out of all-star superman, numbers and all

they kept up the fortress in that story, but they also helped him fight

Although they are speaking Kryptonian during some of it, and its not just english. Every once in a while you can hear Kal El pop up through the language.

And maybe the new NO 12 has feelings. Whereas the older bots do not. ? I dunno.
