Tony Gilroy is just saying it was a unique set of circumstances.

If word of mouth carries Andor into becoming a major fan hit, Lucasfilm will likely want to capitalize on it. Whether through shows or films in the Andor style.

Not right away, mind you. But I can definitely see more like it in the long-term. And a fantastic place to start is between ANH and ESB, an era that has (very oddly) received almost no attention.

Tv shows maybe but movies will follow the saga style. Tv shows can be experimental. Kathleen Kennedy mentioned that. I think if we get anything with OT it will be with Omega from Bad Batch.

I’m not tired of the OT era because we’ve gotten nothing between ANH and ESB, or between ESB and ROTJ.

I don’t have an opinion on the likelihood of an OT era tv series. Lucasfilm does whatever they’ll do. But if they did go the route of the OT, I’d want it to be new characters. Like what Andor (or Rebels, actually) have done.

I think they probably just feel that it’s easier to tell stories in the PT-OT gap.

If we get an OT focus show i bet its with Omega and new characters. With legacy and Clone Wars characters appearing in this.

I'm just hoping the lack of success with the Acolyte doesn't close the other 24,900 years of the GFFA for series consideration.

Andor might not become a massive hit because the tone is different to standard SW unfortunately

I don't know why Disney has been avoiding Plaguesis beyond that brief cameo in The Acolyte.

I do understand not wanting to create S2 of The Acolyte, but Plaguesis is also a Prequel Era character too.

Add him with the popularity of Palpatine, a movie or show exploring their relationship is a great idea. I would avoid using Jedi in fighting them because its pre-TPM prequel era and we don't need more of "Jedi encounters Sith and has to die for their secret to be kept". But the Jedi are not a necessity for a story about the Sith, similar to how the Sith are not always needed when telling stories about the Jedi.

Just a welcomed change from all the Empire era (or post Empire dealing with its offshoots) content we have gotten.

A Plagueis and Palpatine series or movie would sell.

The movies have already broken style with the saga films. Rogue One was more of a war movie told in a very different style from the saga movies. Mangold's movie sounds like it will be quite different also, with its inspiration being biblical epics.

Why do people want every SW to have exactly the same style, genre, and tone?

Every single thing doesn't need to be exactly the same.

It already is a major critical success, and fans online are eating it up. We’ll see what the numbers are. The season’s only on its third episode, out of twelve, and the numbers can’t be judged until well after the season is over.
It makes absolutely no sense to me. I find it an oddly rigid and uncreative instinct. But I think they just want everything to be in the style that they like the most.
Fred, are you working with the Ministry of Enlightenment?

But it made it accessible for most. Thats the key. Kathleen Kennedy said they can be more experimental with shows. I dont think Andor is very accessible

I think Andor is quite accessible for teenagers and up. It’s just not accessible for young kids.

I think young kids can access it, unless the remote/TV set up is too complex

I actually think it will be significantly higher. During the first season its numbers grew over the course of the season in a way that diverges from the typical pattern of a show. Accordingly, this season seems to me to have gotten a heavier marketing push, suggesting they have high expectations/projections.
